City’s Public Transportation Deemed Best in the West
I have to agree that the award is somewhat dubious. I have used the public transportation in the Bay Area and it is better than Los Angeles or San Diego, no question. I find the transportation system in San Diego very disjointed and limited. The public transportation in Los Angeles is not very efficient. For Los Angeles and San Diego, you have to drive to get anywhere while I have been able to get to Oakland/Berkeley and San Francisco in a reasonable amount of time. I like taking public transportation to get to the airport-that is not an option in San Diego.— March 31, 2012 11:58 a.m.
Pay Raises for City Council & Mayor Unanimously Rejected
It would have been hypocritical if the council members and mayor voted to give themselves raises while the city employees have been cutting their pay 6% during the economic downturn. It will be interesting how many city employees decide to retire by the end of this month to save their retiree medical benefit.— March 6, 2012 4:22 p.m.
Mayor Sanders Shows Support For Bonnie Dumanis In YouTube Video
I certainly do not like any of the Republican candidates for mayor and as far as I'm concerned, they are all ocean bottomfeeders-they all have baggage- Bonnie for not prosecuting KFC Sanders in regards to the Kessler case; Nathan for lifting the ceiling on redevelopment in Sacramento; Carl for using city funds for a nonusable/untested smartphone app and for having foot in mouth disease; I'm looking forward to KFC Sanders ending his term as in my eyes, he has done nothing about solving San Diego's biggest problems, only empty rhetoric. The problems are still there, just not reported.— February 9, 2012 1:15 p.m.
Committee Requests More Information on Managed Competition
The City made a conscious decision not to load any history into the new computer system. The only history is begins 7-1-2010 to current.— February 2, 2012 4:18 p.m.
City Attorney Says Snapdragon Deal Void
The mayor is nothing more than a manipulative politician and works for the developers and not for the citizens of San Diego. He has not accomplished anything while in office and I was one of those foolish citizens that voted for him. I look forward to him leaving office. BTW, where is that audit of the city financial statements after SAP was implemented June 2010? I believe it is due out this month.— January 18, 2012 11:01 a.m.
Supreme Court Knocks Out Redevelopment Agencies
I agree with the decision. It is the correct one as we all know that there has been abuse and waste. I laugh when I read Fletcher's reaction to the decision-after all, he was the one who had the ceiling lifted on redevelopment funds. I hope our SD citizens will not vote for any of these politicians running for mayor.— December 29, 2011 1:18 p.m.
Kessler Case May Be Headed for Settlement
The city cannot afford any scandals in the news before the mayoral election in 2012. They also have a city attorney who believes that settlement is the way to go.— October 9, 2011 8:03 p.m.
Kessler Case May Be Headed for Settlement
I think the city will settle rather than go to trial. It would be embarrassing for the city to have Sanders in court. The current city attorney is interested in minimizing the city liability. Just look at the $1.9M settlement with the Axon case.— October 9, 2011 11:59 a.m.
