Bonus Blog: Adam Lambert on the AMAs
To be honest, I am not the world's greatest speller; you all should know that by now. And as for Luke? I never really cared for him. In fact, they had so ruined his character, by the time I stopped watching, I think he became a bafoon. I much preferred Robert, because Robert was, for the most part, a man with strong values. And, this is the kicker? I think Laura's life would have been far less tramatic had she stayed with Scotty. Luke is one of those so called 'gray' characters. Time for some GH history, so pull up a seat, pour something to drink, and prepare to flash back. Bobbie Spencer was the town slut. She also had her eye on Scotty. In those days Scotty was the clean-cut son of a local laywer. Scotty ended up marrying Laura Webber, a girl with a troubled pass, but all in all, a nice girl. Bobbie asked her cousin, a two-bit hood named Luke Spencer, to come to town and try to seduce Laura. Well, you know soaps. They had that "TWILITE" thing already going. You know; sweet girl falls in love with the roughneck (Luke) because, deep inside, women are slutty whores who want to run off with the local hoods and live that life on the edge. GH has been doing this for decades. Yes, I know, real women aren't like this and they don't...ummmm...who am I kidding? Laura runs off with Luke, they evenutally get married, but Luke is just a magnet for trouble; luckily, so is Laura. Their marriage attracted 60 million viewers when it aired. But their marriage wouldn't last for long, and eventually the actor playing Luke (Tony Geary) and the actress playing Laura (Genie Francis) left the show for 'greener' pastures, came back, left, then came back, then left....its a soap. I'm sure CUDDLEFISH and the others will love the fact that Tony Geary lives for half of the year in Amsterdam with, supposedly, his male 'life partner'. I may have just increased GH's viewership by one!!! Yeah!!! Robert Scorpio was the superspy of the show; and he is 100% hetero. Oh oh, I think I just lost that new viewer. Once Luke left the show, Robert, and his on/off wife, Anna, took over and the show got even better. Now adays? I haven't watched GH in the past, oh, 10+ years. Mainly because Robert left and the show became obsessed with mobsters like Sonny Corrinthos and his lackey, Jason Quartermain. The show is utterly stupid, which is a relative term for soaps I realize, and bends over backwards to showcase slutty wives, slutty teenagers, its really just a slut-fest, and ratings are down. First off I am not Josh. You may think I am, and well what can I say, but I am not Josh. First off; I'm better looking. And second off, I doubt he even knows who Luke Spenser or Robert Scorpio are. And he has a tendency, I think, to play both sides of an issue far too much. Not me. And as for Prince? I have ALL of the albums Prince has put out. ALL OF THEM. Even when Warner Brothers was trying to muzzle him. My favorite song is called THUNDER, and my second favorite song is ELECTRIC CHAIR. He also, I believe, gave the best SUPERBOWL HALFTIME performace...ever! Made "THE BOSS" look like high-school act. Having said that? His last album tanked. Barry Manilow also sales out concerts, has a Vegas gig, but no one is going to say that guy is "in" any more. Prince's prime was in the 80s, we all know this. And who among us would have thought that Prince would have been considered the normal one, when compared with MJ.— November 24, 2009 7:03 p.m.

Josh, I have no problem with him doing this stuff at night time on the AMA. Its too be expected. But in the morning, on GMA, when kids are watching cartoons? Thats going too far. These "Gay Agenda pushing lunatics" can jump all they want, but by doing so they just look like "GAY NUTS" (pun intended)— November 24, 2009 5:39 p.m.

In a statement, Dick Clark Productions executives and show producers said, "Due to the live nature of the show we did not expect the impromptu moment in question." A source, who was in attendance at the AMA rehearsals, said that the sex act was not one of the dance moves that had been rehearsed. "It wasn't there; it did not happen," the source says. While Lambert admitted that the lip-lock was a spur of the moment event -- "Adrenaline is crazy and sometimes things just happen," he told Rolling Stone on Sunday night -- it's uncertain when the dance choreography was altered to include the controversial head-to-crotch move. "We had this great dance number totally staged. It's a sexy song about seduction and power and I was just doing the lyrics justice," he told Rolling Stone. "My intention was not to try and create a controversy. But if a controversy ensues, then so be it." Bull; he wanted the controversy to sell records. Its the oldest trick in the book. So it cost him GMA. Tough s***. Good for ABC for, ahem, SHAFTING him.— November 24, 2009 4:27 p.m.

More 'Gay agenda' dreaming on your part Cuddlefish. Most of the people in this country, even Gay parents, do not what that kind of performance on morning tv for kids to see; be it women kissing women or men kissing men. You wish it was the other way, maybe, but we both know; it isn't. Just keep pushing this kind of agenda and all you will do is encourage the people in the middle to re-elect the Republicans. Its trending that way already, so just go ahead and push them over edge by 'pounding your chest' for a cause (gay sex for morning TV shows) that most people will never support. As for what Adam says and does? He has already demonstrated that he doesn't always do what he says he is going to do. MTV is where he should take his act, especially that kind of act. Not on morning TV. Oh, I know you "gay agenda" folks will bash me, call me homophobe and all that? But let me state again, since CUDDLEFISH and MAGICFIVE can't read..follow along my gay friends... I am someone who favors precident. IF same sex kissing has already been shown on GMA, or the other morning shows, between women, and if Adam was not allowed to do his same sex kiss with another man, then I would be the first person in line saying that they (ABC) were wrong, and Adam not only shoud be able to, but should take them to court. But IF same sex kisses have not been shown, and by the way I don't want them to be, then I do not support him.— November 24, 2009 2:10 p.m.

There you go again, magicsfive, calling someone a homophobe who doesn't agree with your agenda. Typical elitist, left-wing whaco strategy. You're no different than Limbaugh on the right. Name calling when someone doesn't agree with you. I am, quite frankly, let down by that kind of tactic from you. I expected better.— November 24, 2009 1:57 p.m.

I am not sure what you think I said you said Magicfive. If I have said you said something and you didn't say it, then I am sorry. All I am saying is this; pure and simple. I do not support Adam performing that kind of song on GMA. UNLESS, read carefully, UNLESS Women have been allowed to perform songs with lesbian kissing on GMA. IF that has happened then I support the opinion that he, Adam, be allowed to kiss guys during his songs on GMA.— November 24, 2009 1:54 p.m.

This is TOTALLLY about Adam and what he did on the AMA. We wouldn't be having this conversation had that perfomance not happened. He even admits to it. He admits that aspects of that perfomance were not known by ABC. Well, they know about it now, an decided they don't want some gay guy simulating oral sex on another guy on their morning show; good for them. CBS is okay with it apparently; good for them. You may feel GMA was stupid, but I don't. They, ABC, have every right to decide what is or isn't on their show. His lawsuit would be laughed out of court. His being on GMA is NOT a right. You need to seperate your views from reality. And if the people in the midwest don't want to see that kind of stuff, then they have just enough right to say they don't want to see it as you have the right to say you want to see it. You laugh at them, I laugh at you for laughing at them. I guess freedom to demand what they want is only okay if they want what you want; in this case, gay guys kissing on GMA. It's up to ABC to decide if they will or will not have that kind of performance on at 7am. They have decided not to. Don't like it? Turn the channel.— November 24, 2009 1:47 p.m.

I just read Adam's comments. He doesn't say whether or not he would have done that song or not. And if he was going to do that song again, and didn't, then this same crowd would still be all over ABC for not letting a gay guy do his stuff on GMA. Because that is what this is all about, Adam even admits to that in his statement. I don't watch the morning shows. If Madonna or Britany, or some other female, was on those morning shows kissing other women, and ABC said no to Adam? Then I would be supporting Adam to be able to do that on GMA too. But, as far as I know, none of the lesbian acts have been on those morning shows. Some of you seem to think this kind of performance is okay for morning TV; I don't. It doesn't belong there, IMO, and as far as I can tell, it isn't. Then again, there's always Bert and Ernie. So maybe I'm wrong. Rob— November 24, 2009 1:10 p.m.
