Durts
"Stabbin' Cabin" needs to make a comeback-I met this piece out on old 95 at a dive bar called the Dew Drop Inn. She makin' googly eyes at me while I was shootin' pool. After a s***load of shot with her and my 3 friends Jose,Jack and Johnny,we meandered over to my stabbin' cabin parked on yonder down the road.— August 26, 2009 12:08 p.m.
Marilyn Monroe -- Lives Her Life Like a Body in a Box
By far they were. I wouldn't say Elton sold-out per se,but did forget a little bit of his roots. Green Day and Metallica are sell outs.— August 26, 2009 12:03 p.m.
Banned on the Run
Saying Oasis is a crap band is your opinion and I can respect that. I'm not going to say they were anyhing special but"Don't Look Back In Anger"&"Champagne Supernova" were pretty cool tracks. I like pretty obscure stuff from major bands so take those with a grain of salt.— August 26, 2009 12:01 p.m.
Party Time?
Thanks Refried. I don't really hate this town so much as I hate the hypocrisy of this town. Sandy Eggo IS a beautiful town with some really cool people. It could be SO much better if it didn't try so hard to be one of the cool kids. ;-D I'd also buy Mindy a beer, sit down and probably have an interesting conversation with her as well. I AM harsh. I AM rogh around the edges and you're so dead on,Refried. I AM honest. I'm certainly not going to sit here and scream from the rooftops that I'm perfect or that I'm even right. I have a voice. That voice comes with an opinion. That opinion can be argued, followed or ignored. I'm ok with that.— August 26, 2009 9:11 a.m.
James Cotton Meets James Cotton
I've seen it Josh. I was talking about that ball of fur you call a dog and it's leather jacket(I'm laughin' my nards off right just thinking about it). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqAI9X8VgYA You have to watch from 2:30 on. It's HILARIOUS!!! Josh? You MAY want to take notes ;-D— August 26, 2009 2:34 a.m.
Marilyn Monroe -- Lives Her Life Like a Body in a Box
What about"Someone Saved My Life Tonight","Burn Down The Mission","Madman Across The Water"&"I Feel Like A Bullet(In The Gun Of Robert Ford)"?— August 26, 2009 2:28 a.m.
Pedicab Crackdown
LMAO,Josh. And you're correct about Chicago cops. They're a different breed altogether. Corrupt? Not so sure they're more corrupt than anywhere else in America. Tough? They make the cops out here look like Mall Security Guards.— August 26, 2009 2:21 a.m.
Party Time?
You're right thestoryteller. I AM an insensitive a$$hole. I'm also damned proud of it too. What makes me an Independent Thinker is the ability to see through your bulls**t. I also am Independent enough to judge for myself that you don't need someone to hold your precious queenie hand throughout your life either. S**t happens, life goes on,yada, yada, yada. I read your"blog"about the creditors harrassing you. It made me cry. I then saved a child from a fire and the Angel of Heaven kissed me on my forehead. Sensitivity to other humans is a myth around here. Ya'll like to claim that you're a wholesome Brady Bunch but in reality, you're a bunch of granola lovin',PETA supportin' hippies without a clue. It's PistolPete's QUICK EXAMPLE TIME(not to be confused with Peanut Butter Jelly Time).... I'm from the Midwest. My parents are from the Midwest. I have Midwestern values. Well,at least I used to. I may have lost those in the Witch Creek Fire of '07 way back when. I was always taught to do unto to others as you would have them do unto you. I have a skin thicker than drywall. That's why it's ok to make fun of you shlups all day and night when not scoping out financial websites. Anyways...before I was so RUDELY interupted ;-D,my parents taught me good. Back in the days that I drove,I once left my overhead light on in my car. It drained the battery. I had to get a jump. I told myself that whenever I saw a light on in a car that appeared to have been left on accidently,I would try to find the owner and let him know. I've seen this happen at least a half dozen times in 4 years. It's pretty common out here as it is in Chicago. The last time this happened to someone,I had to walk from the Domino's Pizza in RB to La Terraza on Pablado Road in RB. It's about a mile away at most. I walk very fast for being a 275LB sack of lard. Anyways...As I walking up the hill on Pablado before Matinal Road,I spotted someone's light on. I've got a pizza that I'd like to consume while it's still toasty and I'm worried about a stranger's domelight. I walked up to about 6 different houses on both sides of the street. Not only did I get the strangest looks from people for doing a common courtesy, they couldn't tell me if it was their neighbors car or not. Small town folksy my big,fat a$$! Sandy Eggo is just another boring town in America. I've been out here for 4 years so far and it only took me 6 months to see through this town's facade.— August 26, 2009 2:14 a.m.
Pedicab Crackdown
You guys DO realize that snow brings fresher air, right? Fred mentions the sea, desert and mountains all in one place. That's all good in theory but the Average guy can't afford that. I moved out here because I had always heard that Sandy Eggo WAS a special place. Then I got here and after 6 short months, realized"Am I on Mars?". The attitude out here SLAYS me. Sandy Eggo used to be a resort town for cool old folks. Kind of like Miami but with less Cuban radicals and drug dealers. You guys mention the weather. Last summer there wasn't a drop of rain for 8 months. It was close to 100 degrees in Poway/RB/CMR/PQ on some days. That's FAR from perfect. You guys have decent weather. Earlier this year in April it topped out at 85+ degrees around where I am. I went to see my sister in Chicago for a few days on March 5th. When I left Lindbergh Field it was around 70 degrees and perfect. I had my Packers winter jacket with me because I was expecting to get off the plane at Midway four hours later to it being 40 degrees and rain. I about s**t bricks. Stepping into Midway,it was about 65 degrees and the sun was shining. It was almost as if I had never left Sandy Eggo for Chicago. The next day was beautiful. Then it rained. Then it snowed at my parents house in Wisconsin for two days. Then it melted. I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt with my Crocs flipflops on St.Patrick's Day in Wisconsin. Not humid. Just....PERFECT. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseact… That's a link(I hope so at least)to a picture of me in Wisconsin 3 days before St.Patrick's day in Wisconsin. If you look cartefully, you'll see snow on the ground over my left shoulder. It was gone the next morning. Changing seasons really is cathertic to the soul. You guys should try it sometime. Fred mentions Balboa Park. The only things I know about Balboa Park are:It's a gay cruising spot for Hillcrest, there's alot of nice museums and theatres I'll never see,the cops like to beat up panhandlers there, the panhandlers like to beat each other there and the Chargeless won their only claim to success while not popping steroids like Skittles there. I've been to the beach twice in the 4 years I've lived here. Each time I've gone,I've looked around and thought to myself,"I could live on the EXACT same sand, look at the EXACT same water and laugh at the EXACT same dickheads for a hell of alot less on Chicago's Gold Coast(Lake Michigan and the Magnificent Mile)". It's sand & water. Big deal. EVERY beach in the world has those two things. I've seen the Atlantic ocean off the coast of Long Island,NY. It's no different. This has got to be the cockiest town I've ever seen. I'm really. You guys claiming to live in"America's Finest City" is akin to me shouting to the world that I've got a hoo-ha as big as John Holmes'. If this was truly paradise on Earth,I wouldn't have to read The REader every thursday for a few cheap laughs.— August 26, 2009 1:43 a.m.
James Cotton Meets James Cotton
Josh? The Men of America would like their membership club card back. We'll let you keep your nads for the time being. You are now on probation.— August 25, 2009 9:22 p.m.
