Almost a dirty secret
This is the sort of constituent service legislation that motivates the folks that built the Democratic Party. Had it been publicized prior to this last election perhaps more people would have shown up. The Republicans have been delivering for their base ever since the temporary tax cut Bush pushed in the early 2000's. It's past time the Democrats delivers for the economic interest of the working class.— November 28, 2014 6:31 p.m.
Almost a dirty secret
I was watching the news yesterday and the reporter had to leave the WalMart area and cross the street, to the Fry's parking lot, to report on this. Now I understand better. WalMart wants no part of paying a double holiday pay. Better to just deprive employees the holiday at regular pay rates.— November 27, 2014 8:56 a.m.
Demos’ dough
Is it any wonder that the Democratic turn out was so low this past election despite record money spent? The Democrats are too busy sucking up to their rich donators while ignoring the folks who they are suppose to be serving. What is the last thing the Democrats did that had a direct effect on the poor? I believe it was President Clinton signing "Welfare Reform". With "both parties" sucking up to the corporate and the .01% who is looking out for the little guy? Time for the little guy to have a party to call their own.— November 26, 2014 3:14 p.m.
Defiler of the desert
That's the attitude that keeps white collar criminals out of prison where they belong.— November 25, 2014 1:17 p.m.
Defiler of the desert
Well that could be done in a prison setting.— November 25, 2014 1:11 p.m.
Which Tamara Green we talking about?
Considering that all the accusers are past the civil suit time limits there isn't the financial interest that the Filner accusers are in line for. There also isn't the political consideration that Finer's accusers, women, media and billionaires had. Also Filner's actions if proven wouldn't get a PG-13. Nobody accused him of rape. So what is the up side for the accusers? Closure I'm guessing. I have no idea what the ramifications of being raped are but I can guess that none of them are helpful in maintaining one's good mental health.— November 25, 2014 11:08 a.m.
Food Waste Fiasco
We also get food from the San Diego Food Bank and the Feed America program.— November 24, 2014 6:16 p.m.
Which Tamara Green we talking about?
This could turn the tide for Bill, if she was the only accuser. But she is only one of ten or eleven accusers. Which sort of boost her claim that she suffered mental torment from the sexual assault.— November 24, 2014 5:55 p.m.
Food Waste Fiasco
We at the Church of Nazarene in Mid City collect food from several stores twice a week and distribute it at our three times a week distributions. We needed a refrigerated truck to get into the program and the expense of the truck is paid for by the church. This program is not easy to coordinate but with the help of volunteers we've been able to give out thousands of tons of food over the last five or six years.— November 24, 2014 4:38 p.m.
Lookin' at you, kitty
Oh sure but does it offer the ability to weigh the 25 cats the lady down the street owns or is this a one cat contraption?— November 24, 2014 4:28 p.m.
