I came to San Diego in 1995, and discovered Harry's not long after. Long before burgers were a thing, they were the only diner-style place in town that would make me a burger cooked rare.

Hey, thanks for reading, WrongfulWright! All the "all the elements...elevated" references are actually intended to be salutes to QS's branding practices - to show that that really is an accurate description of what they do: H cocktail is an elevated Pimm's cup, Duck wings are elevated chicken wings, Duroc Pork sandwich is an elevated Montecristo. And they really are a "Bar. With Food." too - as opposed to a unified restaurant, which is another accurate element of their branding. Unfortunately, I think it's also part of why people aren't paying as much attention to the second half of the menu as they would like. Since that's why they invited folks to dine free, I thought it worth commenting on that aspect.

Oh, the film takes place deep behind LucasLand lines, yes indeedy. I think they find that the Americans are better prepared than they were expecting in their initial attack, and so they decide to pull back and wait for their return. Yes, surprising.

There Is Something Haywire About Releasing the First 5 Minutes of Haywire

Tell me more about these "movie theaters," Grandpa... The other day at a screening, I heard a film critic complaining about having to attend screenings, as opposed to receiving a screener. If the professionals can't be asked to leave home... Actually, I'll defend the release of those five minutes, if only because the film is so vastly different in look and feel from standard actioners and even a good deal of previous Soderbergh. It's a heads-up.

Better Than All Six Episodes of Star Wars Combined!

That was one of the finest on-screen breakdowns in film history. Easily better than Sheen's in Apocalypse Now. I hope you all caught the fact that when he is sobbing at the end, he is sobbing The Star Wars theme. It's a freaking master class - the veering from knowing self-mockery to apparent genuine rage is breathtaking.
