EDC PR Machine Takes Credit for NY Times Fluff Piece
For those just wondering about this piece here is the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/04/realestate/comm… But when it comes to the credibility of DAN LUZADDER, the author, it's non-existent. I wonder if he wrote this or, as Don suggests, San Diego's EDC did. To bad the NYT doesn't accept reader's comments on their web pages... we could giv'em a earful..— March 4, 2009 1:07 p.m.

Johnny, Yes you'd be welcome too if DON makes it back. Although Don's bias has shown through from time to time. He can moderate the conversation at dinner. But Johnny, knowing that I face such an extreme intellect, maybe I should invite JF too.— March 1, 2009 7:06 p.m.

Don, One thousand comments and still going.... To show my appreciation for the work you put into this... if you come back to San Diego for a visit. I like to take you, and the misses, if she travels with you to a restaurant of your choice. Thanks again for giving us a place to air our opinions. Best, JW— February 28, 2009 10:11 p.m.
SDCERS Lowers DROP Interest Rate to 3.54 Percent, Says DeMaio
Yes Johnny. But it's only a three-rounder if the losing party appeals the decision. Mr. Moorlach, may convince his colleagues on the Board to pursue it. But with statements like this: Tom Umberg, one of the lead attorneys on the case for the deputies union and a former state legislator, said Bendix's decision is very well reasoned and not likely to be overturned. He also said, "it's unusual that a court would find there's so little merit that they would dismiss the matter on the pleadings." Mr. Moorlach, may be sealing his own fate as as county supervisor.— February 27, 2009 2:19 p.m.

Fred, I agree everyone needs to make compromises. What I found odd was Scott's suggestions were nearly identical to the Mayor's opening negotiation offer to the five labor groups. It was so close he suggested the exact same number of furlough days and the same number of holidays to give back to the City. His other suggestions were eerily close as well. Granted it was just an opinion piece, but it sure sounded as if the Mayor's office was speaking.— February 27, 2009 10:09 a.m.

Well Johnny, it's now final at the trial level.... A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has thrown out Orange County's lawsuit seeking to roll back pension increases handed out to deputy sheriffs in 2001. The decision in the year-long lawsuit that pitted Orange County against the deputies union and the local retirement system means that county supervisors will have to decide on Tuesday whether to appeal. While several supervisors said they were disappointed and still believe in the merits of their case, it's unclear how they will move forward. For JF, Come July the PD going to have quite a few more openings. To Johnny's chagrin, you unmasked him quickly. His confession: "JF- you should have been at PD instead of FD with those top notch sleuthing skills of yours!" Ever considered a second career?— February 26, 2009 2:36 p.m.

And Don, I was disappointed with your response to Johnny's confession. While I'll admit I may be reading these comments through rose-colored glasses, I guess I'm naive. Yes, we will have differences in opinions, but we've also found some points where we have agreed. Is it too much to ask you, as the blog moderator, to require fair input in the context multiple monikers?— February 26, 2009 2:32 p.m.

Well it's an interesting moniker, that is in the context of using the word "puppy" in it. I suppose it could be taken in few ways. Puppy, implying a younger person or attitude. Surfing typically indicates a sport practiced by the younger generation too. On the other hand, it is very disturbing. In comment #932 above: "Wow- very interesting thread with lots of good comments....can I join in?? My name is SurfPuppy and I'm new around here :)" This post was a bald-faced lie. An obvious attempt deceive others and ultimately and add more of the Johnny Vegas, Billy Bob Henry rhetoric to the thread. It is an act involving moral turpitude. In the past you've claimed you're a lawyer. So you've received ethics training both in law school and continuing education requirements. Lies are acts that have an inherent quality of baseness, vileness, or depravity with respect to another or to society in general. So, I'm just wondering, how many other monikers should we attribute to you Johnny/Billy/SurfPup? I see you've used JohnnyVegasBaby spewing forth on other sites how many more here?— February 26, 2009 2:18 p.m.
