My Thoughts on Michael Douglas and Michael Vick
Since I keep giving Michael Vick a hard time, I have to also state...Brett Favre as a complete idiot. I hope the Packers defensive line breaks his leg when they play the Vikings.— August 18, 2009 3:34 p.m.

The above rant, sounds exactly like someone that hasn't been doing what you mention in your very last sentence.— August 18, 2009 3:33 p.m.
Our Idiotic Country -- Criminals Getting Paid
I love the idea of minors committing crimes, and letting the parents pay the costs. So Pete, I read that story in the paper, although you're giving me details that weren't in there. I think, even in a best case scenario, she should lose her job. So, if she just accidentally pulled it out, while looking for lip gloss or whatever, fire her. Because, she created a disturbance and a fear. My friend worked security at House of Blues, and told me cops hated that they weren't allowed to bring guns inside. Well, this is exactly the reason why. Or, you get a cop that's had a few beers, and wants to stick it in the face of some idiot that's getting out of line. I also know someone that lived in a bad part of California, had his car burglarized a few times. He bought a gun, had it registered and everything. He was in a diner, the gun was in a case, on the table. Cops came and he got cited for all kinds of charges. He didn't realize that you couldn't bring a gun into a restaurant like that. Since it was in it's case, he thought it was no big deal. And now, that's always on his record. A cop should know all the rules. Now, I love the fact that cops are carrying around their guns when they are off duty. It sure makes me feel a lot safer. And it's like they're on call 24 hours a day. But, any little mistake, they should be terminated immediately. Because if their judgement is that bad in that situation, who knows what their judgement will be when they have the uniform on.— August 18, 2009 3:31 p.m.
My Thoughts on Michael Douglas and Michael Vick
I remember dating a stripper that told me about a guy on the Chargers, that bought one of the other strippers a car. She was totally pretending to dig the guy, and getting lots of stuff from him. So, I'm guessing that the NFL PLAYERS, look up to the strippers much the way the 10-year-old boys look up to the NFL players. It's like the thing has gone around full circle or something. I find that CNN stat hard to believe. I don't think Mike Vick being into dog fighting, can all of the sudden, make kids say "Hey....let's stop throwing the football around, and go buy us some pit bulls. Come on, let's go! IT's all the rage." It would be like that episode of 30 Rock, where Tracy Morgan wants to do something crazy, and tells his homies he wants to get into dog fighting. They bring him a couple dogs, per his request, and they were these cute little toy poodle type puppies. And he was furious they wouldn't fight. Kids just wouldn't know how to create a dog fighting ring. Heck, I remember being 11 and hearing about cock fighting, and my first thought was....gross! Next time I go into the bathroom, I'm going to lock the stall, so nobody thinks that I'm waiting for the next match.— August 18, 2009 9:45 a.m.

That's funny. I just never bought that dumb logic about "Well...what about the safety of the bartender from second-hand smoke." Because, I'm guessing if someone cared, they wouldn't be slinging drinks in a smoke filled bar. And believe me, smokers do enough that irritate me (like sticking their cancer sticks out the windows as they drive, and then flicking the butts onto the street). But I think they've gotten so screwed about all these laws/rules. As a kid, I remember restaurants had a smoking and non-smoking section, and everyone was fine with that.— August 18, 2009 9:39 a.m.

My Thoughts on Michael Douglas and Michael Vick
I don't know, comedian. I saw a woman at the Bambi Club in TJ when I was 17...and what she did took talent! Although, I have to ask Harvest...who said strippers are "struggling to get by?" Yeah, I know...they tell us naive men that they have three daughters at home they are trying to support. Or that they're going to college, to someday become a doctor. But do we really believe that? Or do we just give them a $20 for a lap dance, and a $5 for a tip on top of that. I mean...uh...not me. But my friends that have gone. I'm just sayin'— August 18, 2009 2:08 a.m.

I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, but I feel smokers often get the shaft in various things. I still think each bar should determine whether or not THEY want to allow smokers. But storyteller...I don't think Rickey condones what Vick did. I think he's just saying he did his jail time, so why pile on him? Which is a decent argument, although I'd still like to see Vick never touch a pig skin again (pun intended). And I think if you have a job where you deal with the public, and also represent a company, you have an obligation. You are, whether you want to admit it or not, representing that company. I write about parties for the Reader. SO, I may talk about getting hammered or something at a party. But the truth is, I sometimes exaggerate for the sake of the story. Because the simple truth is, I'm never going to do anything at a party that makes me look insane. Even though I don't think the bosses at the Reader would really mind, as I'm going to a party (and partying) for the column. But it doesn't mean I'm going to act like a drunken jerk to the folks there, or whatever (and especially not drive if I've been drinking too much). And teachers and coaches, and people at university jobs, should have a strict personal life.— August 18, 2009 2:06 a.m.

So, gofurry is fred, Dinkel Acker Brau is Dirk Diggler, and who's on first, or is it I Dunno on Second?...and SDaniels is antigeek....and tikicult is tikigod, spliffadams is pokemon and.....storyteller is mindy....jesus, who really cares? Maybe some people are creating multiple accounts, maybe not. But who really cares?— August 17, 2009 5:04 p.m.
Not Fair
For those people that didn't like the registration rule, I wonder what they think of that area in RB, where people would park their cars with the "for sale" signs. Apparently, they aren't allowed to do that anymore, or they face a fine and a tow. Regarding the light cameras, I have NO DOUBT that they were put there merely for revenue, and not for "safety" reasons. But so what. We need to do something to create revenue, right? Why not have a way to enforce laws and create revenue, all at the same time? When a cop pulls you over for going 85 on the freeway, he's not doing it because you are "unsafe." There's nothing "unsafe" about going 85 on a freeway, in the left lane. That's revenue, too. But ya know what? How annoying is it to be at a green light, and you can't go because the last two cars of the green arrow have decided to run the red light? Well, with cameras up there, they sure do a lot less of that.— August 17, 2009 4:59 p.m.
