Facebook and Food Fights in School
arin, the problem with those other professions you mentioned is....they are not TEACHING children, in a classroom. And as pyscho put above...you can have strict settings so the kids can't into it. Believe me, I thought it was UTC as well...but even Crowe, I believe, has talked about that mall in L.A.— November 14, 2009 11:57 a.m.

Darn it. I seem to get character names wrong (last time was a Flight of the Conchords blog). Arin...I said from day one, I'd love for the Henne kids to be taken away. If what happened was the first "offense"...no. But, they have a history of doing wacky things involving their kids (see the video of them going into the eye of a tornado or something? not only is that dangerous for the child...but they took the kids out of school to go with them! Oh, and there's the video of the baby, having a beer put in his hand and a cigar shoved in his mouth like he's one of the dogs playing poker). So Arin...why did Chris Brown, an African-American, get such a light sentence for beating the living tar out of Rhianna, threatening to killer her, and biting her ears and fingers? I agree, the Enron people and all those big fat cats that scam people out of money...I'd love them to spend their lives in prison. Also, Jesse Jackson, who made $2o million for a charity benefitting inner city kids, yet only gave $800,000 to the charity and said the rest was "administrative costs", one of which went for a girlfriend and their illegitimate kid. Politicians...well, our own Cunningham is doing some serious jail time. Just as that African-American politician that stashed money in his freezer. It's all a matter of what they can prove, not color. I do agree with you on one color that seems to help -- GREEN. You have that, you tend to hire great lawyers and not do the time. Re: teachers. Again, it's all common sense. Of course they should be allowed to have a Facebook page. But why in the world would they NOT assume students would see it? Or get photos and things off it. And if those are brought to class...whose fault is it?— November 14, 2009 12:38 a.m.

Well, the mall actually was taken from a popular mall in L.A. I've been to it. Remember, when making a book/movie, you can draw from all kinds of sources. After all...do we really think there was a football player like Forrest Whitaker, who had a younger brother smash a car that some college scout gave him? Probably an entirely fictional scene. Arin: I'm kind of on the fence about teachers and what their rights are. I agree with what you're saying. But I think anyone that works with young people, should think about all kinds of things. Do they go to a strip club in their off time? Do they go to a concert and smoke a joint? So many things can come back to haunt them, although, if they aren't on school grounds, really...it shouldn't. So, good points. I didn't hear the results of Balloon dad, but to me, 90 days in jail is fine. I have many friends that are lawyers, and they've taught me over the years (when I complain about light sentences), that when the defendant pleads guilty, they save so much time and money, that they get these sweet deals. Also, you have to realize...as much as I think those kids are in a horrible situation (two insane parents), most authorities agree...the kids PROBABLY WOULD NOT be better off in foster homes, or in some orphanage. So, unless you're molesting a child, or really physically kicking the crap out of them, you get to keep the kids. Otherwise, there'd be that gray area...a parent that takes his kid to church twice a day, and doesn't let him go to the doctor because "God can heal the boy" (although, bad example, as parents that refuse medication usually do lose their kids if they're warned first). And, no...I don't think if Henne were black, the sentence would be tougher on him. I could probably give some examples, of famous (or infamous) African-Americans that have gotten light sentences (not just OJ and getting away with murder, I go to that example way too often). Give me some time, and I'll see what my brain can come up with.— November 13, 2009 2:54 p.m.

The Diaper Darling -- Astronauts Gone Wild
As for the Monopoly game, well...when we're deciding on game pieces, you can be the boot, to symbolize the pulling up by the boot straps you have to do. I'm guessing, you'll also need a lot of the Get Out of Jail Free cards. But seriously...speaking of "cards", you say you are going to put that "race card" back in your pocket. Please do. If I say something, like how Professor Gates is insane, because he was breaking into his own house and cops showed up and he felt like yelling and screaming at them, instead of thanking them for showing up. Or, this recent professor who was black, and talking race and white privilege with a female (that was white), got so angry and punched her in a bar. That happened recently. If i bring those topics up, and you feel race was a reason for any of these things happening, go for it. Bring it up. But again, I'm talking about a nutty astronaut (who was white). On a side note: I liked your line about The Wet Stuff. Now, that's the type of post I'm looking for. I loved it! Regarding spelling and typos, dude, don't worry about those. Nobody judges on that. Okay, wait. Some people do, but not anyone that matters. We judge on the content of what the reply is in your post. I'd be happy to discuss my views on race relations with you. Either over a beer, or over instant messages via this website. But seriously...let's give it a rest on the blogs, unless the topic relates to it.— November 13, 2009 1:51 a.m.
The Diaper Darling -- Astronauts Gone Wild
I wish this thread could go in the direction of "head". By that, I mean the movie Jack Nicholson wrote in the 60s, starring the Monkees. Rino, I won't usually address your comments, because they aren't really relevant to the topic at hand. I mean, can't someone make fun of Steven Tylers big, ugly lips (wait...would that be racist if I said it about Jay Z? Yet, Tyler is white. See how weird things get when you want to make a comment that has nothing to do with skin color, but something else?) To answer your questions: Do blacks have it harder? Yes, I think they do. Does the criminal system treat blacks fair? Yes, I believe it does. Attack on rappers and pants that hang down and show your underwear. Nope, not a racist attack. The same media groups attack people like Eminem (last time I checked, he was a white rapper). Just as these same media groups attacked heavy metal bands in the 70s (for satanic messages and other things), and in the 80s. Nobody claimed the media was just attacking them because they were white. See how silly it can be to play the race card?— November 13, 2009 1:46 a.m.

The Diaper Darling -- Astronauts Gone Wild
Loved the Aerosmith comment, arino. The rest is idiotic, as usual. I'm curious as to why, the sniper that killed those people (I think he was only on death row a few years, Red Sox)...he is claiming racism. Really? The dude shot up people at gas stations. And he plays the race card. I just read a story online about a black professor that punched a white female co-worker in the face at a bar, as they argued about race. I'm sure he'll play the race card, as they were actually arguing about "white privilege." But back to the stories at hand. RedSox...the astronaut went there with an intent to kidnap or murder. No two ways about that. Regarding Letterman, if famous people want to have affairs, two suggestions I would make. First, don't get married or have a girlfriend. If you do, they assume you are in a relationship with only them. Second, keep it away from the office. Because, there are now female staffers coming out and saying that the ones that slept with Letterman, got special treatment. And that does seem to be the case, because I remember that Birkett gal ALWAYS being on the air, and at the time I used to wonder why, as she was horribly unfunny, uncomfortable, and uninteresting when she did anything on air. Now I know why she was.— November 12, 2009 10:30 a.m.

Hey Denise, I'm convinced you think EVERY picture of you looks bad. I remember you wouldn't let me video you either. Lots of great themes. But, you don't want to pick one like Super heroes, since you will only get a 25% participation rate. You'll get the guy with green and a ripped shirt who is Hulk, a Superman, a Clark Kent, and a Wonder Woman. And maybe one or two people that create their own crazy super heroe character. After that, nobody else will be dressed up. People have done 80s themes, 60s, 50s, white trash, togo (did anyone ever do these before Animal House came out?).... If you want more ideas, email me directly. Great party.— November 12, 2009 10:24 a.m.
