My Memorial Day
It's funny you mention that, MsG. When I first heard about Tillman doing that, I thought it was a big time publicity stunt. But I quickly read that he turned down every interview request, and realized he's the real deal. A true, hardcore, patriot. And, I think that's awesome. But...we live in a time where it was unnecessary for him to fight in a war. It's not like other wars in history, where there was a shortage of men willing to fight. But yeah, he totally wasn't going to just play this situation for PR. He really had his heart in the right place. The problem was...you have to step back, and consider all ramifications of things.— May 27, 2009 8:34 p.m.
Idiotic Football Players
I think people see that. They just humor him. It's people with his attitude, that make people think I'M racist. Because in my years of playing basketball, about 80% of the people I meet on the courts, have his same attitude and theories on life.— May 27, 2009 10:01 a.m.
The Idiotic ACLU
It's so weird, because my ACLU friend is furious with me. She's on the verge of not wanting to ever talk to me again! All because I thought, as my girlfriend said "The school is in a no-win situation with this." If they refuse to allow the girl to do the report, people get upset. If they let her do the report, people get upset. So, in my opinion, the school nailed it. They let EVERY PARENT know that there would be a report. And, half the parents didn't like the idea (which is beyond me, but it's their right). My ACLU friend claimed you woudln't do that with JFK, because you aren't talking about his sex life. But you never know which direction a story will go in. Oscar Wilde is one of the greatest writers in history. So...if a child does a report on him, will they mention he's gay? Or that he spent time in prison on sodomy charges? Do you ask the kid if they intend to cover this? Do you not let them? Do you send permission slips home? It all seems like a lot of extra work for the already overworked teachers. But if you don't do that, some idiotic parent sues.— May 27, 2009 9:58 a.m.

Idiotic Football Players
La Jolla must be proud to have you. Well, if you don't see the difference between racing horses and fighting dogs to the death, not much I can tell ya. I believe when horses can't race any more, they're put out to stud. Only if an injury is serious, do they shoot them (not that I'm saying I agree with any of that...just pointing out there's a big difference). You also wanted me to address how James Harrison could be responsible when SOMEONE ELSE let his pit bull out. Well, I will say that, YES, if you own a pet that someone can let out accidentally and they hurt your kid, you should be at fault. So, if you have a 10-foot boa constrictor, and it chokes your kid...you should be at fault. And, if you know you have a dangerous pet...how is it that anyone entering your house, isn't told "Do not go near the pit bull cage. He sometimes bites." Because Harrison was careless (which to me means "stupid" when you have children involved)— May 26, 2009 4:04 p.m.
NBA -- Playoffs and Personalities
Oh...regarding African-Americans playing basketball and getting rich, I have no problem with that. Growing up, people always thought I'd like Larry Bird because he was white, and I was an outside shooter like he is. But Magic was my favorite player. What I don't like are...young athletes doing stupid things. That could be driving drunk, getting in fights outside of bars...just like Jayson Williams. The guy just punched someone in a face outside a bar the other day. Sure, it could've been the other guys fault. But, looking at Williams track record, I seriously doubt it. I believe he's the dude that shot his limo driver, because he was playing around with a gun. He then covered up the scene, and tried to say it was a suicide. Yet, this country you hate so much, let him get away with that.— May 26, 2009 3:58 p.m.
NBA -- Playoffs and Personalities
Don't forget boxer Julio Cesar Chavez, also a wife beater. Spliff, I believe drug dealers are losers, because they wouldn't think twice about selling to a 12-year-old kid that wanted to score. As to whether or government is protecting fields, I don't know anything about that. I suspect you don't either.— May 26, 2009 3:56 p.m.
My Memorial Day
Yes, that's true regarding Tillman. But here's the thing. Had we NOT had enough soldiers willing to go fight, that's one thing. When we do, to go sign up and fight when you have a good paying job and a family to take care of...I think that's careless. Patriotic? Hell yeah. Smart? Nope. Very stupid. And, in a way, very selfish. It wasn't thinking of his immediate family.— May 26, 2009 3:53 p.m.
