Very well said, monaghan. And yeah, refried, Millers audience is probably 90% Republican. But, the thing I always give him props for...is the fact that he'll let liberals finish. He doesn't cut them off. And he's often very polite while disagreeing with them. The other day, I also loved the fact that he went off on how insane Glenn Beck must be, to completely fabricate a story about Barbara Walters. Once someone like that is caught lying, I don't know why anyone (republican or democrat) would even waste their time listening to them. (spliff rant continued) Now i get it!!! Since racing horses is a billion dollar industry , you can accept some harsh treatment of the horses!!! But since fighting dogs is not , we need to stop the negative treatment of the dogs??? Man that sounds so fuccing hypocritical!!! I'M GUESSING THAT DOG FIGHTING WOULD NEVER BECOME A BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY, BECAUSE ONLY LOSERS WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SUCH A SPORT. WHO WOULD WANT TO SEE DOGS TEARING THEMSELVES APART? YOU, PERHAPS. NOT I. Well guess what hunting deer , ducks and rabbits isn't a billion dollar industry. So why ain't those people going to jail?? UH...BECAUSE PEOPLE HUNT FOR SPORT AND ALSO FOR FOOD. AND IT'S LEGAL. Why don't we see the news putting them on blast for hunting and killing innocent animals for a fun and calling it a sport. Oh wait i forgot they do have t.v. shows!! Showing europeans using their DOGS to hunt down animals for fun. So i guess it's going to take a european to say dog fighting is okay for people to not trip!!! Because t.v. already shows people hunting animals for fun and none of those azzholes on t.v. are going to jail. And you never see or hear anything from my so-called animal activist or judges trying to ban what they are doing!!! Hmmm I wonder why???? REALLY? THAT LINE SHOULD BE "Who has GONE to jail for hunting animals for sport?" FOR A GUY THAT CLAIMS TO BE SO INTELLIGENT ON VARIOUS MATTERS REGARDING THE GOVERNMENT, YOUR SYNTEX/EBONICS IS REALLY COMING THRU. Who has went to jail when they were killing horse??? Please answer those question , because you seem to keep dodging them. WHO HAS "GONE" to jail....WELL, AS THE OTHER POSTERS SAID, THE HORSE RACING INDUSTRY DOESN'T KILL HORSES, UNLESS IT'S A SERIOUS INJURY. AND, I'LL TELL YA WHAT. NBA -- Playoffs and Personalities
Spliff, you are right, that talking smack is a part of sports. But last I checked, people don't do that until they know who their opponent is. I did a bit in radio, where anybody that came to the radio station and beat me one on one, got free tickets to see the Globe Trotters. And, a friend of mine that played pro ball in Germany, he's 6'11"...I had him go outside to meet the people. It was all just a joke, but the point is...people calling in, talking smack, didn't realize I could be 6'11". But your first instinct was to talk smack, which I find odd. Regarding the "just shoot around"...well, basketball is a 5 on 5 sport, last time I checked. So, that wouldn't really prove much. And I'm remember correctly, it was me talking about my shooting, that started you on your smack talking. So, we should bet on my shooting, not what would happen if we played Horse, and you made some bizarre shots from behind the basket or something.— May 28, 2009 9:54 a.m.
Parents Taking Care of Children
Sorry to hear about your daughters loss. Although, it may be a blessing in disguise, that probably doesn't make it any less tramatic for her. So I wish her all the best. Yes, I understand when they hit teenage years, all bets are off. You could be the best parents in the world, and the kid does what they want or sneaks out, or whatever. That's a whole other debate for another day. I'm talking about babies and small children. And even then, it's almost like when Akyroyd did that used car salesman type of character that wanted to sell kids "bag o' glass" as a toy, because it's fun. And he showed that even building blocks, you could choke on (if you stick them in your mouth, as kids often do with everything). But, as anti said above...you should not only comb over your house, as if you were tiny...shaking bookshelves, not having candles lit, when we know a kid could touch it, or knock it on the floor. Not to mention, you really shouldn't have many moments where the kid is by themselves. As I started my rant with my girlfriend, I kept wondering how Tysons kid is all alone to turn on an exercise machine, and then get strangled in it. I was all set to blame the mom, until I realized, that can happen in a mere couple of seconds. But, at my core, I think if you're a smoker and leave your lighter on the coffee table and the kid gets it, or you're a hunter/gun guy, and your kid finds your gun and shoots themself or another...the parents should be held responsible. On a side note, refried: On Dennis Millers radio show yesterday, he did a rant about how there's no way women make 70 cents to the dollar, or every woman in the country would be suing and winning. He asked for someone to call in, and explain how they think it's possible that is the case. Nobody called in!— May 28, 2009 9:48 a.m.

Idiotic Football Players
Spliff, you asked what's the difference between killing a horse and killing a dog that can't fight. First, the people above have responded, as have I, that they aren't killed when they can't race. But, you're missing an important step here, my brotha from another mutha. And what that is...is that it's not just Vick killing dogs that couldn't fight. That's a part of the problem. The main problem was: HE HAD DOGS FIGHTING!!!!! Do you not see the difference between, say, watching horses run after a mechanic rabbit on a track? Or horse races? Or the Westminster Dog Show, where the worst thing that happens to a dog is that a judge feels their nads, or their owners lose a bee toy (anyone catch the movie ref?) You mentioning Vick being black, is playing a race card. And a stupid one to play. I'm guessing if it had been Brett Favre fighting dogs, it would be the same thing. You're the kind of person that, if it had been Ricky Henderson betting on baseball, you'd say it was the white hall of fame committtee keeping him out. But guess what? Rose is white. And, he's still out of baseball. Basically, if you don't follow rules, there are ramifications. I know, I know. The Idiotic ACLU
Well written responses by you guys, but first, shizzy. You mention things I agree with. But, do you realize that the ACLU has fought FOR sites that help people keep child pornography? I don't want to mention the name of the organization, as I don't want them to even get a mention. But, it had to do with adults being able to have the right to do what they want on a computer, or some such thing. And to me, that's where the ACLU should step back, and say "is this really the battle we want to fight?" The ACLU, like unions in days of old, did a lot of positive. But just like unions now, they often are involved in negative things, and sometimes do more harm than good. refried, from what I remember about the movie, Harvey Milk didn't die because he was gay. A nut job who worked with him, resigned from his job, wanted it back and didn't get it (partly because of Milk), and so he shot him. I guess Milk doesn't go well with Twinkies. Believe me, I think the kids should learn about Milk. But...answer this question for me. If the kid does the report on Milk, and talks about his gay lovers (not sure why the kid would, but hear me out on it)...what do you do when a few parents complain and threaten to sue? It's just not worth the upset parents, so why not send a permission slip? It's a simple enough thing to do, and it seems, the right choice, as half the parents took their kids out of the class. Which is great, because those idiotic parents are just going to make their kids now SEEK OUT, and find info on Milk so they can be rebellious. So, instead of them dozing off during this kids report, they now can Google and seek stuff out on their own, and will learn much more. Including the fact that they have an idiot for a parent. refried, in some regards, things have gone back the way they had back in 1953. Because of all the lawsuits and stuff.— May 27, 2009 8:51 p.m.
