Drumming is My Madness
I always liked the drums on that as well. I just hated the fact that Mr. Simon, considered this genius songwriter, only giving us, like, 10 ways to leave your lover. That's false advertising. Although, Flight of the Conchords has a song that mentions about 50 ways, yet...there's no drummer on that track! Lists are great. Except when Rolling Stone does them, and seems to come up with some whack picks on things. (what did you think of the John Cusak list movie? can't think of the name...maybe High Fidelity, not sure)— June 5, 2009 3:18 p.m.

Sorry for the confusion. No, if you win, it's free. But as I said (complained about), my caption has never been picked. That's when you said "why not get it framed?" and anyone can have their caption framed by them, by paying that price to have it done. I don't think I'd do well at the dictionary game. My friend Bonnie was with me once when I was getting new tires put on my car. We had time to kill, and did a dictionary game where you open it up to a random page, and the first word on the page, you read ONLY the definition, and they have to guess the word. I can't believe how good she was at it. I was horrible. And, the words aren't always hard, but when you hear a definition, there are just a few words that you can pick that go with the definition. I am disappointed to say, I even resorted to cheating. I'd glance at where she had the dictionary open, seeing what section it was...hoping that knowing the word started with the letter "S" would help me somehow! There's nothing that Scrabble guy could tell anyone, that would improve their game, if they already play Scrabble. If you play it regularly, and have half a brain, you know all the good strategies already.— June 5, 2009 10:28 a.m.
LeBron James -- Bad Sport?
Spliff, I'm sure anyone could've guessed you'd be a Raiders fan. Good call on the name "Steroid Dance." I like that. I think LTs sliding yardage cannot be considered anything other than his age. At the running back position, that is common. Sure, you'll have some of those rare guys like Jerome Bettis and Tiki Barber, that have great years late in their career, but it's certainly not the norm. I think the Chargers were idiots for not letting Michael Turner get more carries those last few years, to save the wear-and-tear on LT. But, it's typical of the Chargers, making stupid moves regarding their players.— June 5, 2009 10:23 a.m.

Hmmmm...not sure what that means, SD. Geez, working at 7-11...I guess being held up is the negative, that far outways all the positives (putting your head under the Slurpee machine, free beef jerkey, etc.)— June 5, 2009 10:20 a.m.

I agree regarding the pharmacist. Good call. Regarding the first story...in theory that sounds good. But it's unfortunate that the world doesn't work like a Clint Eastwood film. The thief wouldn't go out telling everyone to stay away, because the clerk is packing heat. Instead, he is just glad to get out of there. Or maybe wants to vandalize the place when it's closed, for revenge.— June 5, 2009 12:45 a.m.
Idiotic Football Players
Well, I don't know enough about sex change operations to debate the issue. There are people that have issues, for example, the fictional Buffalo Bill character in Silence of the Lambs. To me, it seems the best course of action is...if you are born a male, or a female, just staying that way. If you are attracted to the same sex, you'll be able to find someone. But having surgery seems to open the possibility of complications. I think people with the amount of self-esteem issues you're talking about, might get a face lift, breast implants, etc. But they wouldn't change their sex because of it.— June 4, 2009 4:11 p.m.
NBA -- Playoffs and Personalities
I'm not saying I don't know any white players in the NBA. I'm just not sure with many of them...take Pau Gasol for example. Not sure where they were born, etc. I can't believe Luke Walton got millions from the Lakers, as he's not very good. Regarding Larry Bird...not only did he get the Pacers deep in the playoffs in his few years coaching them, he was THE ONLY PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY...that won league MVP as a player and Coach of the Year.— June 4, 2009 4:07 p.m.

Because...I don't like the fact that they charge you some insane price to have your caption framed. I bet they make some serious coin doing that. Well...Joe Edley, the best Scrabble player in the world, is going to be at Barnes & Noble, I think in Escondido. It costs $75 to hear his strategy, which is really silly, considering he just studies the dictionary and list and lists and lists. Which is why...my mom has a better vocabulary, way better spelling than I, yet she couldn't figure out why I'd always beat her at Scrabble. I just had the two letter words memorized. And I had better strategy (things like not wasting the "s", etc). How are you at Boggle?— June 4, 2009 4 p.m.
LeBron James -- Bad Sport?
Spliff...I knew the time where we'd be in agreement. And here it is. The other thing I found so odd about when LT did that...was the fact that he was ranting about how the players weren't being "respectful" because they were doing the goofy "lights out" dance that Shawn Merriman does. Yet, I'm not sure why LT doesn't get the fact that when Merriman does it, it's also disrespectful. Not to mention the fact that Merriman will do it after a routine tackle or play. So...if the Chargers can dish it out, they have to be able to take it. The Patriots doing that dance, was their version of saying "scoreboard, baby!"— June 4, 2009 3:53 p.m.

Anyone here a fan of Brooke Burke? I kid, I kid. refried and SD...I'm curious as to your opinion on the stories.— June 4, 2009 3:49 p.m.
