Sorry Trader Dan, but you linked to the exact same article already posted and I looked at, and again, it was not the NC Tinmes, it was the publisher and yje 87% was a****** One Time Charges. — July 25, 2008 8:03 p.m.
I get it. This is where people go to rag on the UT.
But if they're so bad, why is the company that owns the North County Times doing worse?

Looks like David Copley is posting here from his fishing boat.
Actually the NC Time is NOT doing worse than the UT-the link you provided is not a link to the NCT-but the publisher who owns many newspapers, and the reason for the ONE TIME losses are far different than the UT:

The Question on Nancy Graham: Why Was She Hired in the First Place?
I am also interested in your reaction to Pat Flannery's recent digging into the SEDC mess showing the off-shore money connection. ========= Wow, that's news to me. Can someone give up the 411 on this??— July 26, 2008 9:28 p.m.

The Question on Nancy Graham: Why Was She Hired in the First Place? =================== Graham was hired because she had strings pulled, that is how 99.5% of all government jobs are filled (especially the big $$ jobs), through nepotism and cronyism, and Graham was no different.— July 26, 2008 9:27 p.m.

Ponzi, you been in Borders lately? They got miles of newsstands with magazines two or three deep. And books. Plenty of books. Print doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. By russl =============== Magazines will eventually go the same way newsprint has gone-but it is going to take a little bit longer. But I do think magazines will suffer the same fate in the long run.— July 26, 2008 2:47 p.m.

I don't care if you hate UT editorials or whatever. But it is not why the U-T is on the block or having trouble. It's at least as bad or worse in a lot of other newspapers. It's not because of the editorials or the perceived missteps of the past. By traderdan 9 =========================== I am aware of what is going on with new PRINT. Very aware-I was pointing out the NC Times did not have an 87% drop in revenue.— July 26, 2008 1:27 p.m.

Response to post #10: If the comments were cut off, there must have been a reason. I can guess what it was. I would love to have read those remarks. Best, Don Bauder By dbauder =========================== The comments get cut off because they don't agree with them, and for no other reason. When I was posting positive posts about Mike Aguirre on Chris Reed's blog the next thing you know they had IP banned me. So don't tell me it is over TOS or anything else-it is over your PERSONAL speech plain an simple. If they didn't like my posts they could just delete them, but they went far beyond that, they first banned my account, and then when I just kept creating new accounts they banned my IP. WHY?? Because I was head cheerleader for Aguirre over at the UT-that's why. Many other people posting on the UT actually think I am Aguirre! Or Bruce Henderson. And they would post that in the their posts. So next thing you know the UT thinks the same and BOOM, no more UT posting.— July 25, 2008 8:10 p.m.
