Mission Hills Nation's 5th Most Overpriced Neighborhood, Says Forbes.com
The Sefton home on 6th and Laurel belonged to Tom's grandfather. It was razed in 1956 and replaced with a bank. ======== Are you referring the old SDT&S bank itself on the North corner of Laurel and 6th (I dont know the current name)??? Or the home directly across the street? I ask because when I was in commercial real estate, back in 93/94, when we had that really bad commercial real estate depression, the home across the street was owned by SDT&S and was completely gutted, and boarded up. It was worth about 1 million in 1990, but by 94 it had dopped in value to 300K-400K. I had spoken with SDT&S and wanted to know their plans and did a valuation on the home. SDT&S didn't know what to do with it, but did not want to dump it for 400K. The home had a historical landmark status placed on the exterior-meaning it could not be altered on the outside. It was finally renovated and looks great today-and the location is a 10 out of 10.— August 6, 2008 7:58 p.m.

Wow, the place ha been around a long time. Yes, I wish I was a trust funder of epic proportions, then I would own one of these cool homes for myself. The 2055 Suset "Guyman Man" looks very much like the Bel Air Kirkeby Estate used for the Beverly Hill Billies. http://www.sandiegohistory.org/showcase/images/20… http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.ph… http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.ph…— August 6, 2008 12:51 p.m.

Mission Hills Nation's 5th Most Overpriced Neighborhood, Says Forbes.com
It is on that main street that goes from Old Town up into Hillcrest....... Beautiful estate, on large grounds-it is by far the biggest home in Mission Hills...... If the Sefton Estate is on about 4-5 acres that's it.— August 5, 2008 10:41 p.m.
Wealthy Local Citizens Discuss Buying U-T, Combining It with KUSI-TV, Possibly Having 24-Hour News Program

Wealthy Local Citizens Discuss Buying U-T, Combining It with KUSI-TV, Possibly Having 24-Hour News Program
There is also the question of the La Jolla assets. Would local investors want them, and do they include the late Helen Copley's former home, Foxhill, and her art works? ======================== Question = Why would any of Helen Copley's estate be a part of the UT-like Foxhill? Did she not devise her property upon her death?? Also, I am not familiar with Foxhill, assume it is in La Jolla or RSF-FR, can you provide an address??— August 5, 2008 6:06 p.m.
Wealthy Local Citizens Discuss Buying U-T, Combining It with KUSI-TV, Possibly Having 24-Hour News Program
The U-T would be made more youth-oriented, with more pictures and graphics and less of a gray look. ====== A local "USA Today"!! I like it. I remember when USA Today came out in the early 80's it was a laughing stock-not it is the largest daily in the US. I actually think the synergy beween the KUSI TV station and UT could produce a powerful media. NO ONE from out of town is going to bid-even with a positive cash flow. Any first year MBA student would know the cap rates for newpapers are only going one way-and it is not up.— August 5, 2008 6:03 p.m.
Mission Hills Nation's 5th Most Overpriced Neighborhood, Says Forbes.com
Mission Hills sure is a nice area...there is an enormous home right up in the middle that must sit or 4-5 acres with an incredible Bay and City view, one of the nicest homes I have seen in San Diego. I love it, I have heard that a medical doctor owned it-well this was years ago I heard that. Anyone know the place I am speaking about-it hase a black iron fence that surrounds the property.— August 5, 2008 11:30 a.m.
Ocotillo Wells land owner fed up with off-roaders
However, on the other hand, San Diego juries are notoriously biased in favor of the prosecution. We have 98% conviction rates in jury trials in this county. =========== That is not true-maybe for misdemeanors ONLY, but not an overall blended rate with felonies. In fact It most likely below 90%. And the ONLY reason it would even 90% is because the DA won't even file unless her chances of winning are over 95%.— August 1, 2008 4:27 p.m.
Moores's JMI Knocks Condos Out of Austin Project, Citing San Diego Failures
Unless the developers of the Down Town ballpark condos have a large equity stake in the projects, which 99% do not, all those condos will be bank owned by the middle of next year.— August 1, 2008 4:21 p.m.
