Stocks Down 3% to 4%, after Plunging 8%. Markets Take Bath Overseas, Too
Im calling a DJIA under 9K by the close of Friday. ================================= Market was off 190 today, DJIA sitting pretty at 9258. Could go under 9K by close of Thursday. We are most definitely in a recession, I don't know why the idiots running the country just don't come out and admit it, then say it is just a cycle and we will get over it. Morons in the White Hosue I tell you, morons!— October 8, 2008 5:23 p.m.

Stocks Down 3% to 4%, after Plunging 8%. Markets Take Bath Overseas, Too
However, I think you are right that the market doesn't seem to like the bailout, ==== ============================ Im calling a DJIA under 9K by the close of Friday. Anyone want in on that action??? I have a C note.— October 7, 2008 7:21 p.m.

At 12:30 PST the DJIA is off 326 points, add in the 370 it was off yesterday and the market is down 700 in two days. At this rate the DJIA will be under 9K by the close of the market on Friday. We should have never done the bailout, the market should have corrected itself. Bad medicine, but it must be taken.— October 7, 2008 12:34 p.m.

Copley still has fumber though. Good for them. By Visduh ============================= LOL...... If we're lucky the UT will take Fumbler down the toilet with them.— October 6, 2008 5:36 p.m.

Don, That's why I asked about the clause in the bailout bill. Is there a change to the PBGC? What will the change(s) be? ================================== I don't see how the bailout bill can be used to shore up public pensions-it would be fundamentally unfair. it would also be immoral. Public pensions should be the FIRST pensions to be allowed to go under because of they are the gold plated, Cadillac pensions.— October 6, 2008 1:18 p.m.

Let's say that it takes a while to find a buyer: why doesn't Gene Bell at least try to slow the decline by firing the top editorial management and taking the paper in a new direction? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Because that makes too much sense for a person with an IQ of 30. Over 30 IQ and they try it. . . . . . Does he prefer to go down on a sinking ship? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In one word-YES.— October 6, 2008 1:15 p.m.

I have a park around the corner from my home dedicated to a fallen FF, with a memorial. I will pay my respects today. :) BTW, I see no reason why the PBGC would treat a public pension failure any different from a privatse failure. Last time I checked the PBGC was $23 billion in the red-but that was years ago, probably triple that today.— October 5, 2008 5:41 p.m.
