Union-Tribune Lays Off Three Who Spearheaded Electronic News, Radio Efforts
Because San Diego does not properly fund fire fighting efforts we're going to see insurance companies refusing to cover homes and businesses against fire loss in the near future. ====================================== San Diego does properly fund fire fighting efforts, but the money is not properly allocated. When you have two full time fire departments, one working, one sitting on the beach at age 50 in retirement, then the system does not work. You need to properly manage the fire department so it is staffed with all FF's instead of paying full time wages and benefits to FF who have "retired at age 50", and actually have another City job doing something else, like sittign on the beach. http://www.timesheraldonline.com/ci_9225513— May 13, 2008 8:04 a.m.
Purported Ethics Commission Pulls Another Slimy One. This Is So Blatant It Could Backfire
Clinton pardoned Mark Rich, and Rich was a wanted fugitive by the DOJ. Big time fugitive. He pardoned him for money and because Rich's former wife was good friends with the Clintons. Clinton also pardoned a major drug deal who was the son of a big LA campaign contributor. These scams will always stain his presidency. Always. It is really sickening to see how they tried to claim these pardons were on the merits too, yet any 3rd grader could see through that garbage.— May 12, 2008 10:45 p.m.

Johnny, you're offering grammar and spelling instruction to Fumbler? Try throwing your pearls before swine while you're at it. ============================= I am not offering spelling lessons, just grammar. Yes, my spelling is pretty bad, only because I do not have Fire Fox, which has a built in spell checker for blogging, so I miss many typos. But no biggie there...... But my grammar is perfect! (or close to it).— May 11, 2008 8:11 a.m.

Kittle, who in his private life has enjoyed his times as a poser at the YMCA, will eventually get his just rewards for hypocrisy in all areas of his life. =============================================== I know I am going to regret asking this, but what exactly is a "poser at the YMCA"............?— May 10, 2008 10:34 p.m.

Excessive Labor Costs Force Vallejo to Vote for Bankruptcy
I believe police and fire are worth more than $50,000, but not $100,000. The pay should be in the lower range -- say $60,000 _____________________________________ I was actually going to suggest $50K-$60K in base pay, but when you add in current benefits, $60K is too high- in my book anyway. $50K in cash compensation (not adding in benefits) is still 10-20% above the national median, and it is twice the national median for HS graduates. When Bob Ottilie said we should raise the pay for the Clowncil he pulled pay records for the PD, and 75% (1300+) made over $75K with O/T. So I think $50K base would work.— May 9, 2008 7:15 p.m.
