Complaint Lodged Against Clean and Safe Program Employee
I think their primary role, in the event of a crime in progress, or if they just see something that is not right, is to come to attention, focus on what they are seeing, and stand stupid. After all, these people are not law enforcement agents; they are "Safety Ambassadors," which I believe is second cousin to Stupid Ambastardadors. My legalanglish is a little rusty, but I believe if they were to actually do something, they could be brought up on charges of acting in an un-stupid way, which is in complete violation of the Saftey Ambassadors Stand Stupid Code of Conduct. Come on now! You want to cause trouble?

How Michael T. Pines Defies the Law
If I read you correctly, it sounds like he is telling people to go back into the homes they were evicted from based on a foreclosure because either the foreclosure was not ligit, or the bank that issued the mortgage failed in their due diligence. Seems like a long shot, but it sure would be nice to see some of these bankers who knowingly handed out mortgages to people who didn't have a prayer of making the payments, be held accountable. I guess they fall into the "too big to fail" category too. Or maybe it's "too well connected to fail." That works real well too.

Hmmm, May babies = Maybies. I like it, Barb. Can't say I've heard it before. Tried finding another month that would work like that and could only come up with an awkward Februbabies. Yea, I know. Birthdays have always been an item with me since mine falls on the mother of all holidays: Christmas. Yes, a very different experience. Most people think I got cheated, but the truth is I was spoiled rotten as a kid. Big Italian Catholic family, and I was the youngest--what would you expect? Christmas morning always started with the opening of the presents; my brothers and sisters and I were up to our necks in wrapping paper in no time. Then there was the big Christmas dinner: turkey, or a ham, or both, and all the fixin's. Then out came the dessert: a big birthday cake for "the special one," and more presents! Yaaaay! It was a wonderful, wonderful day. Occasionally, I even got a present that was so special, (meaning expensive) because, as one of my sisters explained, "It's both your birthday and Christmas present." I would just nod and grab the beautifully wrapped box and tear into it. Now that I'm older it is not the big huzza it used to be, but I wouldn't trade it for any other day. Check it out: I have a collection of cards that read: "Merry Birthday and Happy Christmas!" Now how cool is that?

Buddhists’ Pet Release Ceremony Interrupted
Oh, this is great. In the name of religion, let's turn all sorts of animals loose and the consequences be damned. When are people going to wake up to the fact that religion is a sickness that should not be encouraged. What's next? Deadly black mamba snakes loose in Balboa Park as a ritual offering to Cali? Just because we have lunatics loose in society, doesn't mean we should all behave as if we are psychologically impaired too.

Balls in Bowls
What? You guys don't get the "balls in the bowl" thing? I'm surprised at both of you. It's supposed to be subliminal, but it's so obvious, it's ridiculous. You see, the bowl is the receptacle--who's the receptacle? And the balls, well...who has the balls? Right. So, you put the balls in the bowl and la-dee-da! A happy home! Personally, I'm much more intrigued by the "You put the lime in the coconut..." Now that, is something to ponder. Hey, I hope putting the house on the market doesn't mean you guys are leaving us. I would miss these weekly peeks at "life in Sandy Eggo" that you provide. Whatever the story, I hope you are catching this market in the upswing.

Five or six years ago, I saw a few special parking spots in the underground garage at Mission Valley. They were for electric cars and had huge cables and plugs there. Never saw anyone ever use them and I believe they eventually disappeared.

Cordedpoodel, So how do you sell your stuff thru CL if you don't have the person come to your house? I take it you sell things that are small enough to fit in your pocket and you meet them somewhere? For anything bigger than a breadbox, I don't see any way around having the buyer come over, pay, and leave with the item. Suggestions? Thnx.

Carpenters Union Members Picket at Scripps La Jolla
Another example of corporate greed taking precedence over health and safety of the workers; integrity and quality of the work. Another example of how the corporations have conned members of the public into cheering for what will ultimately lead to their own decline. Another example of how people fail to understand the only entity in this country that represents their interests in the workplace are the unions. Another example of how corporations attempt to use sub-contractors, who do not hire local workers; who do not require the high construction standards that union crews do; who do not care that the only jobs left for local workers are in the lower paying service sector; and who take their profits back to where they live instead of putting it back into the local economy. Another example of how ignorance of history and economics leads to the decline of a community. Another example of those who would be the cheerleaders in the race to the bottom. Happy foreclosures! Maybe soon you will understand why.

Complaint Lodged Against Clean and Safe Program Employee
I think their primary role, in the event of a crime in progress, or if they just see something that is not right, is to come to attention, focus on what they are seeing, and stand stupid. After all, these people are not law enforcement agents; they are "Safety Ambassadors," which I believe is second cousin to Stupid Ambastardadors. My legalanglish is a little rusty, but I believe if they were to actually do something, they could be brought up on charges of acting in an un-stupid way, which is in complete violation of the Saftey Ambassadors Stand Stupid Code of Conduct. If I read you correctly, it sounds like he is telling people to go back into the homes they were evicted from based on a foreclosure because either the foreclosure was not ligit, or the bank that issued the mortgage failed in their due diligence. Seems like a long shot, but it sure would be nice to see some of these bankers who knowingly handed out mortgages to people who didn't have a prayer of making the payments, be held accountable. I guess they fall into the "too big to fail" category too. Or maybe it's "too well connected to fail." That works real well too.— May 18, 2011 11:21 p.m.

Hmmm, May babies = Maybies. I like it, Barb. Can't say I've heard it before. Tried finding another month that would work like that and could only come up with an awkward Februbabies. Yea, I know. Birthdays have always been an item with me since mine falls on the mother of all holidays: Christmas. Yes, a very different experience. Most people think I got cheated, but the truth is I was spoiled rotten as a kid. Big Italian Catholic family, and I was the youngest--what would you expect? Christmas morning always started with the opening of the presents; my brothers and sisters and I were up to our necks in wrapping paper in no time. Then there was the big Christmas dinner: turkey, or a ham, or both, and all the fixin's. Then out came the dessert: a big birthday cake for "the special one," and more presents! Yaaaay! It was a wonderful, wonderful day. Occasionally, I even got a present that was so special, (meaning expensive) because, as one of my sisters explained, "It's both your birthday and Christmas present." I would just nod and grab the beautifully wrapped box and tear into it. Now that I'm older it is not the big huzza it used to be, but I wouldn't trade it for any other day. Oh, this is great. In the name of religion, let's turn all sorts of animals loose and the consequences be damned. When are people going to wake up to the fact that religion is a sickness that should not be encouraged. What's next? Deadly black mamba snakes loose in Balboa Park as a ritual offering to Cali? Balls in Bowls
What? You guys don't get the "balls in the bowl" thing? I'm surprised at both of you. It's supposed to be subliminal, but it's so obvious, it's ridiculous. You see, the bowl is the receptacle--who's the receptacle? And the balls, well...who has the balls? Right. So, you put the balls in the bowl and la-dee-da! A happy home! Personally, I'm much more intrigued by the "You put the lime in the coconut..." Now that, is something to ponder. Hey, I hope putting the house on the market doesn't mean you guys are leaving us. San Diego Set to Put Car Chargers on the Map
Five or six years ago, I saw a few special parking spots in the underground garage at Mission Valley. They were for electric cars and had huge cables and plugs there. Never saw anyone ever use them and I believe they eventually disappeared.— April 9, 2011 7:23 p.m.

Cordedpoodel, So how do you sell your stuff thru CL if you don't have the person come to your house? I take it you sell things that are small enough to fit in your pocket and you meet them somewhere? For anything bigger than a breadbox, I don't see any way around having the buyer come over, pay, and leave with the item. Suggestions? Thnx.— March 31, 2011 noon
Carpenters Union Members Picket at Scripps La Jolla
Another example of corporate greed taking precedence over health and safety of the workers; integrity and quality of the work. Another example of how the corporations have conned members of the public into cheering for what will ultimately lead to their own decline. Another example of how people fail to understand the only entity in this country that represents their interests in the workplace are the unions. Another example of how corporations attempt to use sub-contractors, who do not hire local workers; who do not require the high construction standards that union crews do; who do not care that the only jobs left for local workers are in the lower paying service sector; and who take their profits back to where they live instead of putting it back into the local economy. Another example of how ignorance of history and economics leads to the decline of a community. Another example of those who would be the cheerleaders in the race to the bottom. Happy foreclosures!
