Shark Calling in Papua New Guinea
Strange custom; calling in your ancestor and then clubbing them to death. Can't say I've ever heard of shark calling. Now, when I go up to Lake Cuyamaca to do some trout fishing, I always bring my trout whistle. Now that brings those trout right to my hook. You can't call them--you have to use the whistle.

Hillcrest’s Pernicano's and Casa di Baffi Restaurants... "Abandoned"?
What? An IN N' OUT? Actually, it wouldn't surprise me. There seems to be some kind of "herd mentality" going on in Hillcrest with multiple hamburger joints opening all in one season. If that place has to be another food joint, then I say PIZZA! There is no such thing as too many pizza joints. Yum!

Former police chief executed in Mexicali casino
Picky, picky. Who says the order of an execution by a cartel is not an execution because it wasn't legally issued? Seriously? Do you think someone killed, murdered, terminated, whatever, by order from the Boss, was not executed? You could say he was murdered, but his murder was ordered and therefore, he was executed. It might be a technicality in a US court, but in my opinion, considering the circumstances, this poor man was most definitely executed.

Doing is King
I could not agree with you more, Alzano; San Diego's real estate market is definitely like the underwear--the people you speak to are often full of sh....well, let's just say they are stinky. It is good that you find virtues in our failures. There is so many, we must look very virtuous in your eyes. And you are completely right to say "The Drawer," (Cajon) is a nice, poor neighborhood with order and enough cleanliness. I think it could use a little more cleanliness, but enough is better than not. I think you should give Banda music another chance. Or, you might like Norteno, which is similar but with more of a story, usually about someone who was a killer or was killed. Otherwise you can try Rap or House Music which can be nauseatingly loud and repetitive, but I say "to each, his own," regardless of how worthless. I started to feel I was in the Land of Oz when you said the man showed you the room at the end of the orange. You make it sound like such a delectable place to live. Although I was happy to read you did not rent a room from that 60-year old drunk, dirty, smelly white man. You have to be careful with people like that. Especially if they have a knife in their hand. So, did you find a place in "The Drawer"? You were lucky to find a nice Mexican couple to rent from. The Mexicans are very interesting people. If you listen carefully, you will hear them speak Spanish. The women are very compassionate, but the men might chop your head off. Also, the men usually can whistle very loud and usually eat standing up. I hope you enjoy your stay in San Diego, Alzano. You did not say which country you were from, but I am sure it also has some very nice things about it and also has enough cleanliness.

Precisely. I wonder if the judge has to give the basis for his ruling? I mean, he can't just say "You have no standing," and that's the end of it, right? There has to be more than, "Because I say so!" I look forward to hearing more about this one.

Hillcrest’s Pernicano's and Casa di Baffi Restaurants... "Abandoned"?
A novelty? That place is a dump. What do you find novel about a building with broken windows and the stench of urine in the doorways? Let someone go in there and refurbish that place and put in a cool business, and then you will have a novelty. I think a large bicycle shop would do really well there. I'm getting kind of tired of all the restaurants. And definitely not another Starbucks! Otherwise, a facility that offers classes such as painting, drawing, sculpture, etc. Something like they have in North Park or the Bravo School in NTC (?). Truth is, anything would be better than that big reminder of abandonment and decline. To me, that place is now an ode to death. Not cool by a long shot.

Hillcrest’s Pernicano's and Casa di Baffi Restaurants... "Abandoned"?
It's true; that miserable eyesore needs to be transformed into...something! Especially since Hillcrest badly needs more public parking spaces, plus, it would give someone a chance to try a new business. Sometimes I wonder if the Pernicano's purposely let that building sit there as a big memorial to who they once were. Nothing but an ego trip, and obviously no real concern about the neighborhood and what the community might want or need.

Shark Calling in Papua New Guinea
Strange custom; calling in your ancestor and then clubbing them to death. Can't say I've ever heard of shark calling. Now, when I go up to Lake Cuyamaca to do some trout fishing, I always bring my trout whistle. Now that brings those trout right to my hook. What? An IN N' OUT? Actually, it wouldn't surprise me. There seems to be some kind of "herd mentality" going on in Hillcrest with multiple hamburger joints opening all in one season. If that place has to be another food joint, then I say PIZZA! There is no such thing as too many pizza joints. Yum!— October 4, 2012 2:52 p.m.

Picky, picky. Who says the order of an execution by a cartel is not an execution because it wasn't legally issued? Seriously? Do you think someone killed, murdered, terminated, whatever, by order from the Boss, was not executed? You could say he was murdered, but his murder was ordered and therefore, he was executed. It might be a technicality in a US court, but in my opinion, considering the circumstances, this poor man was most definitely executed.— October 3, 2012 8 p.m.

I could not agree with you more, Alzano; San Diego's real estate market is definitely like the underwear--the people you speak to are often full of sh....well, let's just say they are stinky. It is good that you find virtues in our failures. There is so many, we must look very virtuous in your eyes. And you are completely right to say "The Drawer," (Cajon) is a nice, poor neighborhood with order and enough cleanliness. I think it could use a little more cleanliness, but enough is better than not. I think you should give Banda music another chance. Or, you might like Norteno, which is similar but with more of a story, usually about someone who was a killer or was killed. Otherwise you can try Rap or House Music which can be nauseatingly loud and repetitive, but I say "to each, his own," regardless of how worthless. I started to feel I was in the Land of Oz when you said the man showed you the room at the end of the orange. You make it sound like such a delectable place to live. Although I was happy to read you did not rent a room from that 60-year old drunk, dirty, smelly white man. You have to be careful with people like that. Especially if they have a knife in their hand. So, did you find a place in "The Drawer"? You were lucky to find a nice Mexican couple to rent from. The Mexicans are very interesting people. If you listen carefully, you will hear them speak Spanish. The women are very compassionate, but the men might chop your head off. Also, the men usually can whistle very loud and usually eat standing up. I hope you enjoy your stay in San Diego, Alzano. You did not say which country you were from, but I am sure it also has some very nice things about it and also has enough cleanliness.— October 3, 2012 6:20 p.m.

A novelty? That place is a dump. What do you find novel about a building with broken windows and the stench of urine in the doorways? Let someone go in there and refurbish that place and put in a cool business, and then you will have a novelty. I think a large bicycle shop would do really well there. I'm getting kind of tired of all the restaurants. And definitely not another Starbucks! Otherwise, a facility that offers classes such as painting, drawing, sculpture, etc. Something like they have in North Park or the Bravo School in NTC (?). Truth is, anything would be better than that big reminder of abandonment and decline. To me, that place is now an ode to death. Not cool by a long shot.— October 3, 2012 9:50 a.m.

It's true; that miserable eyesore needs to be transformed into...something! Especially since Hillcrest badly needs more public parking spaces, plus, it would give someone a chance to try a new business. Sometimes I wonder if the Pernicano's purposely let that building sit there as a big memorial to who they once were. Nothing but an ego trip, and obviously no real concern about the neighborhood and what the community might want or need.— October 2, 2012 11:43 p.m.
