Mexican Gas Pumps Updated
Yea. And as if getting short-changed on the gas wasn't bad enough, when you pulled into a gas station, a bunch of young guys would swarm your car wiping you windows with greasy rags for tips. Then after you had filled up and were scratching your head trying to figure out how the hell your car could hold so many liters, you would notice that one of your tires was flat! But lo and behold, there is a tire repair shop right across the street! And guess where those young guys with the greasy rags work? Arriba! Pancho Villa lives!

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney roots deep and wide in San Diego
Mindy, is sounds to me like you are going through a lot of pain over this so I'm not going to get into it too much with you here. I'm happy for you if you have fond memories of the Romneys and how they brought Christmas trees and presents to your door when you were in need. But you should keep in mind that Mitt Romney became a very wealthy man by shutting down American companies and having the work done overseas, and the thousands of people who lost their jobs as a result did not have anyone show up at their door with Christmas trees or presents. That's the thing with the Mormons; if they think you are worth it, they will help you out. Otherwise, as far as they are concerned, you can go to hell. If you're a believer, you better pray Romney does not get elected President or we will all see just how little he really cares about this country and the people who live in it.

Good grief! Tamper-proof chips and barrier seals? The next thing you know, the stores and restaurants will have posted prices and give customers itemized receipts. It just won't be Mexico anymore.

Smooth Grand Opening of Tijuana’s New Border Crossing
Is this really the best we can do? Mexico completes a new 22-lane border crossing and the U.S. will now take 2 years to complete the necessary construction so that our road meets their new crossing? Was there any coordination (or cooperation) on this at all? Or is 2 years a good indicator of how far apart US/Mexican relations are?

Yea, Milly, this is not the way to convince folks to vote for Bob Filner. This is where we get to talk about those crackpot Mormons. Very wealthy crackpots, but total looney-tunes just the same. The one thing I do like about the Mormon religion is that it got rolling as the result of a conversation Joe Smith had with an angel named Moroni. Check it out-- an Italian angel! Who would have guessed? Anything that gets the Italians top billing is cool with me. And now I understand what the deal was with those plates that Smith and Moroni passed back and forth: Pizza! Had to be. The other thing I like about Mormons is that they build temples that look like Disneyland. I cannot understand how people who have such incredible architectural ideas, can be so delusional about everything else. And then there's the polygamy thing. Oh yea. I hear you, brothers. The more the merrier...as long as the girls buy it, I'm down. That never would have flown with the ladies I've known, but hey-- you know what they say: What Moroni wants...

Will Work for Food
Interesting experiment. I don't think however, with a home, car, family, and money in the bank, that you experienced what it really is like to be out there trying to hustle the only money you will have. I don't doubt the potential for making a decent hourly average, but who could do that 8 hours a day, 5 days a week? I think those feelings you had of being "exhausted, demeaned, degraded, and nonexistent," are what you have to be willing to trade to get that buck. You have to wonder if it is worth it at any price. I know a woman who used to work as a prostitute. When I asked her what that was like, she said, "It steals your soul." I think these people with the cardboard signs are feeling humiliated and degraded by the experience, and understand they are losing a little bit of their soul every time they do it. Any money they raise is probably used to buy a little bit of food and some booze or drugs so they can forget how humiliated and degraded they feel.

Fictive, because without absolute proof of what happened to who, and who has written what about what...and with so many contradictory versions, it is essentially a fictitious history; not factual. It's just a question of who would you like to believe. You can select whichever you want; but you don't get to select the truth. That is what it is, and we have no way of knowing for sure who got it right. We just get versions of history; Fictive history.

Mexican Gas Pumps Updated
Yea. And as if getting short-changed on the gas wasn't bad enough, when you pulled into a gas station, a bunch of young guys would swarm your car wiping you windows with greasy rags for tips. Then after you had filled up and were scratching your head trying to figure out how the hell your car could hold so many liters, you would notice that one of your tires was flat! But lo and behold, there is a tire repair shop right across the street! And guess where those young guys with the greasy rags work? Arriba! Pancho Villa lives!— October 28, 2012 10:22 a.m.

Mindy, is sounds to me like you are going through a lot of pain over this so I'm not going to get into it too much with you here. I'm happy for you if you have fond memories of the Romneys and how they brought Christmas trees and presents to your door when you were in need. But you should keep in mind that Mitt Romney became a very wealthy man by shutting down American companies and having the work done overseas, and the thousands of people who lost their jobs as a result did not have anyone show up at their door with Christmas trees or presents. That's the thing with the Mormons; if they think you are worth it, they will help you out. Otherwise, as far as they are concerned, you can go to hell. If you're a believer, you better pray Romney does not get elected President or we will all see just how little he really cares about this country and the people who live in it.— October 27, 2012 9:08 p.m.

Smooth Grand Opening of Tijuana’s New Border Crossing
Is this really the best we can do? Mexico completes a new 22-lane border crossing and the U.S. will now take 2 years to complete the necessary construction so that our road meets their new crossing? Was there any coordination (or cooperation) on this at all? Or is 2 years a good indicator of how far apart US/Mexican relations are?— October 26, 2012 11:02 p.m.

Yea, Milly, this is not the way to convince folks to vote for Bob Filner. This is where we get to talk about those crackpot Mormons. Very wealthy crackpots, but total looney-tunes just the same. The one thing I do like about the Mormon religion is that it got rolling as the result of a conversation Joe Smith had with an angel named Moroni. Check it out-- an Italian angel! Who would have guessed? Anything that gets the Italians top billing is cool with me. And now I understand what the deal was with those plates that Smith and Moroni passed back and forth: Pizza! Had to be. The other thing I like about Mormons is that they build temples that look like Disneyland. I cannot understand how people who have such incredible architectural ideas, can be so delusional about everything else. And then there's the polygamy thing. Oh yea. I hear you, brothers. The more the merrier...as long as the girls buy it, I'm down. Will Work for Food
Interesting experiment. I don't think however, with a home, car, family, and money in the bank, that you experienced what it really is like to be out there trying to hustle the only money you will have. I don't doubt the potential for making a decent hourly average, but who could do that 8 hours a day, 5 days a week? I think those feelings you had of being "exhausted, demeaned, degraded, and nonexistent," are what you have to be willing to trade to get that buck. You have to wonder if it is worth it at any price. I know a woman who used to work as a prostitute. When I asked her what that was like, she said, "It steals your soul." I think these people with the cardboard signs are feeling humiliated and degraded by the experience, and understand they are losing a little bit of their soul every time they do it. Any money they raise is probably used to buy a little bit of food and some booze or drugs so they can forget how humiliated and degraded they feel.— October 24, 2012 8:26 p.m.

It's just a question of who would you like to believe. You can select whichever you want; but you don't get to select the truth.
