Chargers and Weiners

Well, the right has cleared their field and now has their candidate: Kevin Falconer. The left is in the unusual position of having several good candidates to chose from and unless all but one bows out, it could split the vote and give the election to the opposition. Mr. Coons sounds like he would be great, although a seemingly one-dimensional candidate. Can't say I've heard much of him outside of the great work he has done with SOHO. Mike Aguirre certainly has extensive experience in battling the big dogs and has the scars to prove it. He could be like a Filner with no arms but a very big mouth. Nathan Fletcher has bounced from party to party and finally (?) settled with the Dems. His problem is with all those hat changes it leaves you wondering who the man is and what he stands for. This is going to be an interesting month or two.

I second that motion, but this election may turn out to be one of those "lesser of two (or more?) evils," type thing. Between Carl "De Wanker" DeMaio, Nathan "The Flash - Guess who I am now?'' Fletcher, and Todd "Glory-be-to-the-Corporations," Gloria, I'm about ready to barf. I hope a real Lib/Dem materializes, and soon.

La Mesa Oktoberfest without the rides

Say what? They got rid of the rides because it attracted the wrong element - young people. Oh yea, you can't take a chance on having unsupervised teenagers who want to go on rides, running around loose. That's is dangerous! But they are serving the so-called adults booze by the truckload because we all know alcohol is never associated with problems. Typical La Mesan a-hole thinking. Wasn't their mayor found drunk and passed out in the street a year or so ago?

Monaghan, you must never say the words, "women" and "yeast" in the same sentence. You can get Filnered for that. Yea, maybe Hillary has her battle helmet on. Can you imagine a ticket with Hillary and Elizabeth Warren on it? I think we would have a civil war. Half the Senate would die of a heart attack and the rest of the guys would have to be placed on bed rest. This is exciting stuff but I'm still in the dumps over Filner. That numnutz could have done so much. Now...ugh. I'm bummed.

Chill out in Vermont

Ah, Vermont; one of the most beautiful states in the entire country, imho. I spent considerable time up in the Republic of Burlington back when socialist Bernie Sanders was mayor. Spend a full year in Vermont and you will see the most distinctive seasonal displays of anywhere. People are a little nutty though. Might be from too much maple syrup.
