SDCERS Lowers DROP Interest Rate to 3.54 Percent, Says DeMaio
Paul, You say the "typical" employee. How are you defining "typical". Here's how I define it. According to SDCERS, the "typical" safety member joins the city at age 27, enters DROP at age 52 and leaves service at age 57. Note, that's 25 years or 75% of salary. Also according to SDCERS almost all safety members who enter DROP stay for the full five years. Let's see, five years x three percent... yep, 15%. Go look my numbers on the SDCERS website. You'll see that I'm correct.— February 27, 2009 10:58 a.m.

Fred, I have to say I agree with all of your ideas. Especially the bit about SDDPC. What a bunch of criminals. I had to laugh when I saw Scott's post. It basically echoed a recommendation I made to the union board concerning this year's negotiations. Basically, my view is this. I'll willingly take a 5% pay cut -- starting the pay period after a trash fee in enacted. As one commenter on the Voice put it, I'd be giving up thousands of dollars per year in exchange for each household giving up $400 or so. Alas, Scott's plan includes all of that and a whole lot more, much of which doesn't even pertain to Safety members. He's asking for around $20K from each city employee in exchange for $400 from each household... now there's a fair trade. I do think it's funny that you claim no good ideas have come from those using "handles", given that you've agreed with a lot of my ideas in the past... I really don't care what name Johnny uses, so long as he isn't using multiple names to try to support his one position.— February 27, 2009 10:10 a.m.

JF would never get hired at SDPD without a connection. I'm sure that is how he was hired at SDFD too. ======================= Speaking of which, I'm still waiting for the link to the consent decree where SDFD was forced to change it's hiring practices over a nepotism issue. That was your claim -- let's see you back it up. The decree involving women is well known. What isn't is that SDFD now has one of the best track records of hiring women in the country. You're talking ancient history with that one.— February 27, 2009 6:37 a.m.
San Diego City Attorney Jan Goldsmith fires John Serrano after Brown Field dust-up
Was that you suing the city of Poway, Johnny? Um, I mean Surf Puppy, um, I mean Billy Bob Henry...— February 26, 2009 7:25 p.m.

Russl, Read SurfPuppy's comments on SignOn San Diego. Billy Bob Henry was banned, so he switched to Johnny Vegas and got banned again. Now he uses SurfPuppy619. Go read his other posts on this site. Pay attention to the style. Don, ask your IT staff to review the IP addresses. In the long run, it doesn't matter... the Reader doesn't have a policy against using multiple names. I just think it's sad and points to the true root here... troll.— February 26, 2009 6:18 a.m.

Join in, Surf Pup. All it takes is an opinion and a computer. =================== He has both. SurfPuppy is simply Johnny Vegas, aka Billy Bob Henry, by yet another name. As Just Wondering said, he's a troll. Unlike most other online forums, the Reader doesn't have a policy against using more than one name... whatever.— February 25, 2009 7:28 p.m.
Names of $100,000 City Retiree Club
or have you had enough??? ==================== No, I want the consent decree dealing with nepotism in the SDFD, not the consent decree having to do with hiring women.— February 21, 2009 10:24 p.m.

Ill hunt down one of those SDFD lawsuits which was last litigated in the late 70's as I recall. ======================= Still waiting for that nepotism lawsuit, Johnny...— February 21, 2009 9:31 a.m.
SDCERS Lowers DROP Interest Rate to 3.54 Percent, Says DeMaio
You're up, Johnny. ============= Actually, you're up Don. Why don't you find out the average age of entry into the retirement system and average age of entry into DROP -- for safety members. That will help settle this "everyone gets 90%" bit. Another Johnny Vegas fabrication.— February 21, 2009 9 a.m.
