Appellate court weighs grisly pit bull death scene
I think some of the more dangerous breeds of dogs should frankly not be legal for ownership. Certainly pit bulls, rottweilers, dobermans cause far more injuries and deaths than smaller breeds. Dog owners will always respond that this is due to owners. Supposedly well-trained dogs will not attack people. However, I would say even if this is true there is no practical way to enforce any requirements to make owners of dangerous breeds undergo sufficient training to keep the breed safe.— December 28, 2014 7:01 a.m.
New faces at CPUC. But new broom unlikely
I think the hit Neal Young song (not sure of the title) with the chorus "4 dead in O-HIO" may have helped publicize the Kent State incident as well.— December 27, 2014 8:30 p.m.
New faces at CPUC. But new broom unlikely
So Picker is an advocate for green energy. Is that green as in green for the environment or green as in loads of green money for the utilities?— December 27, 2014 7:32 a.m.
Facts about staggeringly high rates interrupt Peevey lovefest
I'm all for de-regulation in general, but there has to be some mechanism to reverse deregulation when it doesn't. Energy de-regulation in CA there seems to be a colossal failure but I don't see the political means or motivation to reverse it.— December 25, 2014 7:44 p.m.
Facts about staggeringly high rates interrupt Peevey lovefest
I think some people thought it was suspicious that Cheryl Peace, a 20-year homemaker had the qualifications for a $117K/yr position on a Waste Management Board http://articles.latimes.com/2003/jan/11/local/me-…— December 25, 2014 7:41 p.m.
Facts about staggeringly high rates interrupt Peevey lovefest
Didn't Steve Peace get caught red-handed giving his wife a $100K+ state job for basically doing nothing? But I don't think much came of that.— December 25, 2014 4:41 p.m.
Facts about staggeringly high rates interrupt Peevey lovefest
How long have the CA governors been like this? I'm pretty sure Grey, Arnold, and Jerry have all been on-board with helping the utilities companies at the expense of ratepayers. But I can't really remember farther back than that.— December 24, 2014 7:44 a.m.
Facts about staggeringly high rates interrupt Peevey lovefest
I'm sure Sempra investors believe Peevey to be a saint.— December 24, 2014 7:40 a.m.
County unemployment rate stays steady
Where can us frogs go? The USA pot is starting to boil but I'm not sure there are any better pots out there.— December 21, 2014 10:17 p.m.
County unemployment rate stays steady
We are frogs in the pot of slowly warming water.— December 21, 2014 3:34 p.m.
