Big people talk about issues; small people talk about people
You know what I think is a big waste of time is how every time a leader gets in trouble the entire staff has to get "training". Filner mentioned that today - his staff has to undergo harrassment training. Why? Did anyone on the staff do anything wrong except Filner? Why should staff members who didn't do anything wrong waste their time with training that they don't need? It's like when an executive does something grossly unethical and an entire company has to undergo ethics training.— July 11, 2013 7:02 p.m.
Radio's Ray Lucia banned from securities industry
I think it's a pretty good deal for both Clear Channel and guys like Lucia. Show's like Lucia's are pretty much informercials for the product they are selling so I doubt if Clear Channel pays them much - if anything. And Lucia gets free advertising.— July 11, 2013 3:43 a.m.
Which beach do you most frequent?

John Moores getting heavily into horse racing
Hmmm. He does seem to care about opinion writers sometimes. For example, he withdrew support from SDSU because someone at the student paper dared criticize his greed, http://www.utsandiego.com/sports/aztecs/20021018-…— July 4, 2013 10:20 p.m.
FINRA fines LPL Financial for faulty email system

Proposed Expansion Could Bring Trolley to UC San Diego
Ha ha - it's been a long time since I've attended UCSD but I can remember the administration's comically absurd claims that the Price Center is NOT the center of campus.— May 15, 2013 10:06 p.m.
Tijuana’s piece of Olympic dream likely over
Oh darn. We can't go bankrupt spending $50B on an Olympics. We will have to continue to find creative ways to go bankrupt.— April 30, 2013 7:17 p.m.
Economy hops: thank craft brewers
This is a cool local industry. The restaurants going along with these places are good too - Karl Strauss just added a 4S-Ranch location, and Stone has a nice restaurant in Escondido. I'm not even sure if those places are considered microbreweries anymore - I guess craft beer is the term for that. The small craft beer places seem to be popping up business parks hidden in between high tech startups. Personally, I like IPA's with ridiculous amounts of hops.— April 24, 2013 11:49 a.m.
Tech grads: job search will worsen dramatically if immigration bill passes
Yeah the companies can always have the same kind of consultants to analyze wages that the sports team owners have when they analyze benefits of building stadia.— April 20, 2013 11:33 a.m.
In P.B. the hotter you are the easier it is not to care
I think going through a "wild youth" stage is OK and can be fun (although I can't say I would condone slurping vodka while driving). What surprises me in PB is that there are people in their 30's and 40's still living that kind of lifestyle - I don't think that can last forever.— April 20, 2013 8:57 a.m.
