City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
At least Feinstein, Boxer, and Pelosi all did the right thing and called for Filner's resignation. They all put women's rights in the workplace ahead of party politics. Obviously, the same can't be said for many on this blog.— August 24, 2013 5:37 a.m.
City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
Maybe if he goes from just a really, really arrogant and disrespectful person to completely loony. Like if he develops a 2nd personality that is really nice and humble. It would be like watching Gollum talk to himself in Lord of the Rings.— August 24, 2013 5:31 a.m.
City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
I wonder how many major cities have had 3 mayors resign in the last 30 years? Maybe Hedgecock can invite Murphy and Filner can all get an apartment together and do a reality TV show? Three disgraced former mayors of SD all living together. It would be hilarious.— August 23, 2013 9:10 p.m.
City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
So he could harass himself?— August 23, 2013 9:06 p.m.
City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
Nice "apology" by FIlner. My favorite quote: "But they found with those weapons and they used them, in a bloody and vicious way." While calling Filner a "sociopath" might be a little hyperbolic it's not far off the mark. To the few of us here who actually believe that having a "D" next to one's name doesn't automatically make a politician above reproach Filner is clearly a world-class jerk who had no place in public office. Good Riddance.— August 23, 2013 7:47 p.m.
City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
I think it was the right thing to do. I wouldn't go so far as saying good destroying evil and I definitely wouldn't say this halted corruption.— August 23, 2013 7:34 p.m.
Allred wants council to nix deal with Filner
Hey, I figure if you can't beat 'em, join 'em so I'm going to give this conspiracy thing a try. We all know Bob Filner can't possibly be responsible for this crisis. Thus there must be some other explanation. Here's my new theories (well some of which might have admittedly been inspired by movies and/or TV) 1. Did you notice the CIA officially acknowledged Area 51 and released it's location last week? While the Filner investigation is going on? Mighty suspicious I would say. I think alien abductions might have been involved. Maybe there were some UFO alien abductions of some of the acusers. Maybe Filner himself was abducted? Maybe Filner is really an alien? Maybe Gloria Allred? 2. Everyone has been brainwashed by Communists to obey commands from Gloria Allred. Wait until you see Gloria Allred show them the Queen of Diamonds card! 3. It's a consortium of Freemasons, Skull and Bones Society, and Illuminati. They are all controlling things and have coordinated and secretly planned all this. 4. Leonardo di Capprio used some fancy dream machine conncted with electrodes to the accusers' heads. He went in the accusers' dreams and planted the ideas. 5. Maybe all of this is not real. The entire last month has been someone's dream. We are actually all just part of the dream. 6. Bob Filner is really Keyzer Soze. 7. It's all a big publicity stunt for Anchorman Two. Filner is kind of a big deal. 8. Filner was actually born in Kenya and forged his birth certificate - Oh wait a minute - I'm getting my nutty conspiracy theories confused. That's a different nutty conspiracy I'm thinking about. 9. It's all Bush's fault. 10. It's all Obama's fault.— August 23, 2013 8:53 a.m.
Was Filner's office bugged by long distance microphone?
Entertaining is a nice way of putting it. Sad and disappointed is more how I feel. I still have a lot of respect for you as a journalist but your series of articles about Filner has all the integrity of a Rush Limbaugh show. Rah, rah, go team for my political side - they can do no wrong. Boo to anyone who questions my guy or my political team - they are all bad - even victims of sexual harassment. Oh, I know, he just needs due process. At this point that's like saying you need due process to show that the sun is going to rise in the East. I miss the old Don Bauder.— August 10, 2013 8:30 p.m.
Was Filner's office bugged by long distance microphone?
Don't be silly. Animals prefer Venus to Mars.— August 10, 2013 8:20 p.m.
Who's investigating Filner? It's who's NOT investigating him
Yeah - The Reader and to some extent VOSD are really the only investigative news sources in SD.— August 7, 2013 9:02 p.m.
