Today the saddest day ever for Chargers fans
Sad day for this 57 percenter. I did not want the Chargers to leave. But I don't think public money should subsidize the NFL.— January 12, 2017 4:30 p.m.
Chargers get an extra 48 hours
I'm sure this has been covered before. But is there any real reason that Dean couldn't have just borrowed the rest of the money he needed to build the stadium? Are there NFL rules against that?— January 12, 2017 9:03 a.m.

I do hope does lose money on the deal. If reports are true he has to pay 550M relocation fee to move to LA where he will play 2nd fiddle to the lousy LA Rams, and have a much smaller fan base (at least initially) than he did in SD. Plus I don't think he gets as good an agreement with PSL's, naming, etc in LA as he would have received in SD. Also, based on declining ratings, increasing CTE concerns, less willingness for cities to pay for stadia, the NFL might be peaking and could potentially start to decline. Will the valuation of the Chargers increase by enough just by moving to LA that it justifies all that? Unfortunately it's still possible. I hope not.— January 12, 2017 7:48 a.m.
Disabilities act a shakedown vehicle?
Yes - I definitely agree with the concept of ADA and that businesses should have to do some things to accomodate the disabled. But I also think there needs to be common sense. For example, if a ramp is a few inches too narrow or slightly steeper than the law specifies than some leniency towards a business would be reasonable.— January 11, 2017 9:30 p.m.

Yeah one trend that seems to have held in this ongoing saga is that nothing is final until it's final. This one does seem pretty final. But I guess it could still be some kind of last ditch push from Spanos to get the NFL / Kroenke / SD city / SD county / SDSU / anyone else to throw more money in.— January 11, 2017 9:19 p.m.
Chargers get an extra 48 hours

Regents Road bridge, deleted
People who commute on the 5 and 805 would benefit from Regents road alleviating some of their traffic. People who live in UC would suffer from the problems you mention. That's the tradeoff.— January 10, 2017 2:56 p.m.
SDG&E again asks for 2007 fire cost reimbursement
I'm sure they will go to the well as many times as they can.— January 10, 2017 11:43 a.m.
Regents Road bridge, deleted
Oxymoron: "the bridge doesn't provide any congestion relief--it simply moves traffic off the 5 and 805" In other words, the bridge DOES provide congestion relief to the 5 and 805.— January 10, 2017 7 a.m.
Disabilities act a shakedown vehicle?
That's only addressing ADA. As I said there are at least 23,000 pages of federal law. You implied that's it's reasonable to expect every person and business to comply with all laws given a long enough period of time. I don't see how that's possible with a reasonable amount of expense and effort for an ordinary individual or business.— January 9, 2017 2:55 p.m.
