Hueso, Emerald reconfirm statements on DeMaio behavior
No it's not. If she heard directly from the women who were harassed by Filner that's not hearsay.— August 30, 2013 7 a.m.
Hueso, Emerald reconfirm statements on DeMaio behavior
She certainly had evidence. Donna Frye apparently heard a lot of eyewitness evidence.— August 29, 2013 8:57 p.m.
Hueso, Emerald reconfirm statements on DeMaio behavior
Umm, I think you might have fallen for a bad pun.— August 29, 2013 4:20 p.m.
Hueso, Emerald reconfirm statements on DeMaio behavior
I think Donna Frye had (in her eyes) absolute proof that Filner had done things in office that were completely unacceptable for an elected official and that he had to be removed from office immediately. I realize you and many others don't agree with a lot of parts of that sentence but I think Donna Frye really believed it (as did many San Diegans).— August 29, 2013 3:42 p.m.
Hueso, Emerald reconfirm statements on DeMaio behavior
I think the story I believe now is one I heard on the radio. DeMaio's camp knew all about Filner's mistreatment of women and Filner's camp knew all about DeMaio's self-treatments. Both sides decided to shut up rather than play mutually assured destruction. Donna Frye was the wildcard because she actually put principles over blind party loyalty.— August 29, 2013 9:15 a.m.

OK. So any time a woman accuses a public official of sexual harassment and people ask that official to step down it's a lynching. When the media dare criticize the public official it's a reign of terror. Got it.— August 26, 2013 8:41 p.m.

Do you think it was fair for you to criticize Goldsmith for using the term "sociopath" while you and Filner use the term "lynch mob" - or not?— August 25, 2013 9:52 p.m.

What is baloney? Are you saying that it's baloney that "lynch mob" is a hyperbolic description of what Filner went through? What does the Mafia have to do with it? Or is that just cheesy name calling (Republican=Mafia)?— August 25, 2013 9:47 p.m.

shirleyberan, the only reasonable description of what happened is that Filner destroyed his own career. Obviously his political opponents were willing to pile dirt on him, but Filner served up a huge silver platter of dirt to his opponents. This blog has criticized Goldsmith for referring to Filner as a sociopath - a bit hyperbolic I would admit. But if calling Filner a sociopath is hyperbole I would have to say calling the reaction to Filner a "lynch mob" is extreme hyperbole.— August 25, 2013 8:13 p.m.

I would bet Arnold harassed more women than Filner. And Arnold is letting a murderer (Esteban Nunez) out of prison early as a political favor to the muderer's father - something far worse than anything Filner is known to have done.— August 25, 2013 6:50 p.m.
