Faulconer bails, mayoral debate canceled
Clinton seems like a classic name that's stood the test of time. Cool 200 yrs ago; still cool.— November 14, 2013 1:51 p.m.
Faulconer bails, mayoral debate canceled
Wow - whether or not you like his politics I think he's had an incredible movie career from the iconic Western and Dirty Harry roles to his brilliant (IMO) directing in several movies in the last 10-15 years.— November 14, 2013 10:21 a.m.
Faulconer bails, mayoral debate canceled
From what I understand Clint was a pretty good mayor of Carmel.— November 13, 2013 9:04 p.m.
Faulconer bails, mayoral debate canceled
Maybe they can bring in Clint Eastwood to debate empty chairs with Fletcher's and Faulconer's names on them.— November 13, 2013 8 p.m.
Faulconer bails, mayoral debate canceled
This is ridiculous. The candidates who are willing to show up should be given a forum to advocate their viewpoints and raise issues. Major candidates not willing to show up should have empty podiums with their names on them.— November 13, 2013 7:58 p.m.
Braves to leave Turner Field after only 16 years
Yeah - it seemed like they just skipped the usual "we're going to move because we've got an old stadium" dance. The Olympics wasn't that long ago - they really didn't get that many years of use out of Turner Field.— November 11, 2013 3:42 p.m.
Braves to leave Turner Field after only 16 years
To celebrate the announced gift from the taxpayers of Cobb County, Liberty Media has hired actor Seth Green to do a reprise of his famous Rally's Cha-CHING commercial in which Seth rejoiced at the high prices his fictional fast food restaurant was charging. (Not really, but I'm guessing someone at Liberty Media is going "Cha-Cha-CHING" with a big smile on their face right now).— November 11, 2013 2:49 p.m.
Will documentary whack SeaWorld stock?
I haven't seen it but from what I hear it seems pretty clear than Sea World does not treat mammal employees (whether human or otherwise) humanely.— November 11, 2013 12:32 p.m.
Qualcomm may be bidder for ailing BlackBerry
"(Reuters) - BlackBerry Ltd is abandoning a plan to sell itself and instead will replace its chief executive officer and raise about $1 billion from institutional investors, including its largest shareholder, the smartphone maker said on Monday." http://finance.yahoo.com/news/blackberry-calls-of… Personally I would think they will have a very hard time raising $1B. The fatal shot to RIM/BB was the iPhone, ever since that they have been dying a slow death.— November 4, 2013 6:39 a.m.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement shops for less-lethal armaments
The University of California system has a reputation for being a bastion of free speech but I don't really think that reputation is truly deserved - it hasn't been supported by the administration. Supposedly, UCSD (built during the 1960's) was designed specifically without a well-defined campus center to avoid a centralized meeting spot for protests. Over the years eventually the Price Center evolved as a campus center but the 5(6? 7?) college system still tends to keep the campus decentralized.— November 3, 2013 5:38 p.m.
