"It looks like I do have my answer about Toni Atkins being a “small businesswoman”. She backs up her claim by listing herself as a Senior Principle at LeSar Development Consultants. My questions now become did she take a salary for this while on the City Council and if so does she list it in her economic interests as influencing her votes on the City Council? Is she a registered lobbyist with the City now? Did she exchange votes on the Council for a position?"
And:
"Additionally, of course, LeSar is not only Atkins’ spouse and longtime partner, but she has served as a board member including chair and treasurer at Centre City Development Corporation, which in the past raised questions about possible conflicts of interest when Atkins was on the city council. So, assuming that Atkins did not have the position at LeSar when she was on the council, what is the time limit for lobbying the city after leaving office?"

Government Manipulate Stocks? Greenspan's Faulty Memory
Thanks for this, very much. I only wish that Andrea Mitchell would interview hubby Alan in her a.m. MSNBC slot, and go after him with the same acerbic lead-in questions that she uses to sneer at Pres Obama.— September 27, 2010 7:21 p.m.

JGP, your feelings are valid. But if you've been watching what certain public officials have done over many years, and you observe a consistent behavioral pattern that more than allows you to conclude that the officials are not driven to act straightforwardly as representatives for the good of the people, then .... The logical thing to do is to keep an eye everything they do, and everyone with whom they do business. And to try to stop them, because they are undeserving. Maybe "bad" is too harsh and simplistic. So, undeserving, of the job. If I could help a friend get a job at the pizza joint, fine. That's great. But if I get to eat free pizza and you don't, and you have to pay more to cover my freebies, that's not great. And so on. But I like your empathy.— September 4, 2010 12:24 a.m.
The Beauty of Chaparral Landscape
Jerry, yes! Our chaparral is so fine, it's always a joy. It's pungent, hardy, and its shades of greens and rust and tans provide a pleasing palette. This year, especially, the Ceanothus was fantastic, early on showing a fine display of blue flowers along Sunrise Highway, and later, in other areas, the white-flowering species was magnificent.— September 3, 2010 2:30 p.m.

It is NOT at all unusual for Sudberry to be giving money to Toni Atkins: in San Diego, "D" and "R" refer to Development and Redevelopment. The party affiliations are not even an issue. As just one example, Sudberry is on a Urban Land Institute management committee (along with Bill Anderson and Janice Weinrick, from the SD Planning dept) and is a sponsor of ULI. ULI has close ties to, and often employs as a speaker, Jennifer LeSar (LeSar Development Consultants), Toni's spouse. And so much more. Ds,...
