San Diego Film Critics Society Announces 2011 Nominations
What a sad list. The Artist looks like hell.— December 13, 2011 9:20 p.m.
Orson Welles's Oscar for Citizen Kane Back on the Auction Block
How about that red get-up Bob was wearing in the opening minutes of 'The Seven Little Foys'? Put that in your closet!— December 13, 2011 9:17 p.m.
Oh Le Olady Olady I Oh, It's Hardrock, and Coco, and Joe!
Pimps up, Ho's down? I'm confused as Tim Allen and Larry King talking about The Santa Clause. Don't forget Jack Frost 1998. Who wouldn't wanna do Kelly Preston? Look at those breasts. John don't... Ho's down.— December 2, 2011 10:12 p.m.
Let the Awards Season Begin!
Where's your best of list? Time to roll out the hits and duds. Last year Wild Grass and Inspector Bellamy were pretty great. I know you liked Dogtooth a lot. EC R.I.P.— November 30, 2011 12:54 p.m.
Let the Awards Season Begin!
John Cassavetes Award should be a bottle of Crown Royal and subway fare. The best thing Robert Altman ever did was M.A.S.H. and Vincent and Theo. Everything else pass... including McCabe and Mrs. Miller, well one viewing of that won't kill ya.— November 30, 2011 12:50 p.m.
Top Ten "Turkey" Films to Help Combat the Effects of Drowsiness Brought on by the Tryptophan
Just saw 'Potiche' last night and was delighted to see a scene where Catherine Deneuve is preparing a turkey in the kitchen by first chopping off its head, and then sticking her fist up its rump! I noticed in these PC times most people are preparing the stuffing on the side. Anyway, talk about about turkey necks... look at mine! Near the end of Bob's life every Thanksgiving he would try to stick me in the oven... One day they need to release the Bob Hope Bible: a collection of every joke that was ever uttered from that man's hole of a mouth.— November 24, 2011 10:40 a.m.
Top Ten "Turkey" Films to Help Combat the Effects of Drowsiness Brought on by the Tryptophan
Plymouth Adventure was just on TCM recently followed by Moby Dick. Johnny Guitar was also on TCM, and I'm pretty sure they have a great copy of it. Caught Reap the Wild Wind on TCM, and the print was phenomenal. The colors popped. Great looking film. I did see The Exterminating Angel for the first time last night. Too bad Buñuel had sheep instead of turkey.— November 23, 2011 7:09 p.m.
The Movie Studio Logo Quiz III: The Heretic
I couldn't watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The last film good film I saw was 'Juggernaut'. I'm not a Richard Lester fan, so I was kind of surprised it was any good. It probably was only good cause Richard Harris did such a good job.— November 20, 2011 12:43 p.m.
Now Is the Time for All Good People to Come to the Aid of Their Marty!
Like the stamps! I don't like the trailer... What the harry 'f@#kin' potter is this? Looks damn awful. The problem with Marty is he has nothing to prove anymore. Shutter Island was a B movie, at best. I still can't get through Gangs of New York. He made better movies on cocaine. Whatever pills he taking these days ain't working. His last good performance was 'The Muse', a cameo.— November 20, 2011 12:18 p.m.
NBC Eyes Munsters Reboot
Why does NBC wanna f*#% a good thing up? What are Frank Sinatra pills? Just read the Barbara 'Marx' Sinatra book. It's pretty bad, despite a couple of Groucho mentions, as well as Frank's temper tantrums.— November 11, 2011 3:57 p.m.
