12 Films From 2011 That Brightened My Life in the Dark
Dude, dude, dude!! I just saw BELLFLOWER. How the Hope can this not be on number one! Never saw digital look so good before. Sure, I've seen plenty of the same all color tints before, but nobody ever pulled it off like this. Plus everything was top notch: acting, camera, editing, sound can't complain at all. I was kinda surprised to see my buddy Johnny Jewel of Chromatics, Glass Candy, etc. on the soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2XYg7fIDPc Johnny Jewel thru Chromatics is also featured a lot on the Drive soundtrack.— January 15, 2012 6:15 p.m.
Better Than All Six Episodes of Star Wars Combined!
Pretty good but it still don't beat: 'Best Cry Ever' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ee925OTFBCA— January 12, 2012 11:33 a.m.
DGA Refuses to Recognize Spielberg's Nag

12 Films From 2011 That Brightened My Life in the Dark
I just saw Kill the Irishman and Devils Double (Irish & Arab Goodfellas/Casino)and enjoyed them. The CGI is getting real good these days. Hesher another good one. Some real good laughs in that one. Waiting to see The Guard and Drive (for Brooks). Of Gods and Men? I don't know... looks like it might put me to sleep. Barney's Version really sucked. I was disappointed. There's a ton on the list I haven't seen, so I'll be back.— January 12, 2012 11:22 a.m.
The Cinephile Jew and His Christian Sidekick Come Under Fire
Not Maryiln, Miss World 1975, remember that little thing from Chile? Aw, never mind... what do you expect? I was in mourning over Cheeta. Look at all the great roles Cheeta was passed on: B.J. and the Bear, Every Which Way but Loose, Forest Gump, Danny DeVito's role in Taxi, The King's Speech (or anything by Colin Firth, that hack), 2001: a space odyssey, and the role Marlon stole from me: "Last Tango in Paris". Butter this!— January 1, 2012 7:33 p.m.
The Cinephile Jew and His Christian Sidekick Come Under Fire
To the A-hole 'name withheld' who wrote that hateful letter: F#@k YOU. Jesus was a Jew: Christmas is a holiday based on a Jew's birthday, not Santa; and Christianity (your disgusting roots) wouldn't exist without the Jews who wrote the Bible, Assh*le. Go rot in hell, Nazi.— December 29, 2011 7:40 p.m.
A Jew and a Christian seek the best holiday movie
Hey Scott, if you look under your tree on Christmas day you might find a copy of Beast Cops; but you'll probably have to go outside and look under a eucalyptus tree or whatever ya got in that warm climate of yours. As for Matthew, hey, ever heard of the Gospel of Matthew? Notice how all aryans are named after Jews? John, Mark, David, Sam, Dan, Adam, Michael, well just about everyone... What is the Christianity religion about anyways? It's all based on the Hebrew Bible. And Christmas is all about the celebration of a Jew: Jesus. Where does Santa Claus fit in (or Bob Hope, for the matter)? WTF, since this is the San Diego Reader not the loose lipped Chicago Reader where cursing is a virtue. All that medical marijuana in San Diego makes everyone paranoid.— December 21, 2011 9:49 p.m.
Great Moments in Celebrity Broadloom
I've seen this post twice now and each time I couldn't stop laughing. Charlie Sheen was a big surprise.— December 19, 2011 3:51 p.m.
San Diego Film Critics Society Announces 2011 Nominations
Talking about Weinstein. His young wife is suppose to be a designer, but I'm pretty sure she hasn't designed anything; but to prove to the public that his wife's has talent, Weinstein is the money man behind her label Marchesa; and be damned if your an actress and want to star in a Weinstein production and don't wear his wife's frocks.— December 14, 2011 10:27 a.m.
San Diego Asian Film Foundation Screens A Good Husband Tonight
Asian? Does that include everything? Picked up the Hong Kong film Beast Cops in the Cantonese section at my library a couple of weeks ago. Damn, fine film. A must see if you haven't yet.— December 13, 2011 9:28 p.m.
