Dead Genius Comedians
Familiarity with Harris at this point: roughly none. However, you're seemingly excellent taste in erstwhile genius makes me suspect that will be changing soon.— September 27, 2009 8:17 a.m.

Good on ya for this one, Fish! Anything and everything Bill Hicks brings us that much closer to (forgive my paraphrase) "realizing that we're just one big consciousness experiencing itself." I don't even agree with the man on that, but he just always sounds so right!— September 27, 2009 12:11 a.m.
Occasionally, when having difficutlties at my lackluster but otherwise uninteresting job I may (on occasion) become grouchy
Ha! That'd definitely be SOMETHING DIFFRENT THISS YEAR for her.— September 26, 2009 9:57 a.m.

I guess that's the downside of striking absolute gold on your second day blogging--tough to top the cassettes, for sure. Although, in the long run, I'm partial to just about any classified ad, however poorlie spelt.— September 26, 2009 2:37 a.m.

Josh: Linkery's in North Park, 30th and University, or maybe one block south of that. Best eats I've had in the area, by far. They do all their own curing and mock up a superb menu every day. Also, they do some of the weird stuff that I really like: chicken feet, head cheese, bacon dessert, etc. Great beer selection, too, as well as far and away the best table/bar service I've received in the past couple of months. I should stop, as I am GUSHING. Best Regional Food of All Time, Ever, in Any Place: Moxie. All the way, baby.— September 24, 2009 11 p.m.
Writing, Anyone?
+1 Fish, for a Bill Hicks reference. Man was a visionary genius. Sort of bummed I didn't recognize said reference--mind ever so terribly refreshing my memory for me (as it is full of holes)?— September 24, 2009 10:55 p.m.

Fish, that was Smiley Face, not Cynical Face! ;) (Winky Face) I'm not cynical about writing at all. I just mean to point out that the whole notion of the "true story" as distinct from "fiction" has been eroding since the invention of the modern novel. I mean, Mary "18th-Century Riot Grrl" Wollstonecraft was blurring that line hundreds of years ago! The "true story that never happened," and its opposite ("the fictitious tale that really did") are hardly new developments in writing. To me, this is a glorious thing, filled with hope and optimism. Prolly, it's the only thing that keep us safe from a darkly cynical world in which all writers must conform to genre and fear to innovate or break the rules.— September 24, 2009 1:47 p.m.
Is free stuff always the best?
Thanks, SDaniels and snarfhund--always glad to point out the day's must-have items!— September 24, 2009 1:32 p.m.
