U.S. Jobs Rise Sharply but Unemployment Rate Up
I've been watching the US$, the Peso, the Euro, the Canadian$ and the British Pound for several months and the Peso is getting stronger while all the others remain the same... Maybe the US has agreed to remain "fixed" (no pun intended) until other Countries OK the change...— May 7, 2011 6:55 p.m.
U.S. Jobs Rise Sharply but Unemployment Rate Up
I guess they should change their name to : WALL $TREET— May 7, 2011 6:50 p.m.
U.S. Jobs Rise Sharply but Unemployment Rate Up
I agree, just more "feel good" headline numbers to make the masses believe that some "regular" folks somewhere are doing OK these days. It will be along hot summer, as folks try and do without AC and I expect to see many more vocal folks demanding CHANGE...— May 7, 2011 8:06 a.m.
U.S. Jobs Rise Sharply but Unemployment Rate Up
RE: a long, long climb back out of this. I remember when Spring was THE time to get a job (even for the upcoming Summer) and suggest the lyrics "Slip sliding away" as a better description of our current UE workers quest... McD might hire lots of folks, but I believe that they will be short term jobs at the lower end of the pay scale. I'd like to see a financial based job indicator, say jobs paying $40,000 to $90,000 (with benefits) as that is what most folks applying for a "job" are looking for... Given our current dismal fiscal climate, I bet this new indicator would show a more realistic UE percentage of at least 35%.— May 7, 2011 8:02 a.m.
North Park Boxed in by Utility Companies
Under-grounding (which rate payers are paying for) was touted as removing all the ugly above ground wiring but we were never informed that they would be replaced with a zillion steel boxes scattered throughout our neighborhoods like the metallic droppings from huge metal dogs! All these "boxes" could be "vaults" (located below the surface) but of course that would cost a bit more to do. When asked what the difference is SDG&E has been closed mouthed. Expect the wealthy neighborhoods to be last to be polluted by these boxes unless they can get the vaulted boxes instead! This is yet another example of how the Public Utility is telling the Public how things have to be done (+ insuring that it's shareholders receive maximum value) rather than making our World a better place to live...— May 6, 2011 8:10 a.m.
Pacific Beach Foot Traffic, Retail, Up in Smoke
Boloney! Crime also includes DUI's, violent Crime and many others that are listed on the SDPD website for all to check on! RE: Gangs, I think the Bar/Club owners have already "ganged up" on PB...— April 11, 2011 7:55 a.m.

PB is a seaside cool place but so is Cardiff, so is Del Mar; but what sets PB apart from them is the huge amount of alcohol related crime in PB... Say what you want but that is a fact that most homeowners do not have to accept, why should they have their property values drop so some Bar/Club owners can make big profits from over serving? If our Leaders will not represent ALL voters (not just Business's) equally then it is time to elect new Leaders! Over serving is a CRIME and those that profit from it are the sameones that are BLIGHTING Pacific Beach.— April 10, 2011 8:06 a.m.

Case-Shiller Data Suggest Possible Housing Double-Dip
A Great Long Sentence...— April 10, 2011 7:09 a.m.
Pacific Beach Foot Traffic, Retail, Up in Smoke
PB is sadly leading the way toward Business (read BAR/Club) Friendly BLIGHT but in reality, it means that these owners are reaping great profits while making it a crappy place for families to live, for all the locals that do not frequent those Party places or ENJOY LATE NIGHT NOISE! This has now also happened in North Park (by even some of the same PB Owners) and it has reduced property values for all those that live near by. Some time soon, the Councilmembers will get the message that home owners deserve as much respect as these business owners, who I'm sure are really good at donating, because they can! Sadly, the Mayor is totally business friendly and that is not helping improve the quality of life in San Diego at all!— April 8, 2011 7:35 p.m.
