What Men Like, according to Cosmo - Huh?
Ok, final exchange from me on this "controversy". As SD avers, I have nothing but love and respect for the cherished ladies in my blessed life, beginning with my dear Mother, coursing through my angelic bride of 18 years, and culminating in our gift from g-d 12 year old honors student and, more importantly, caring and loving person. My wife and I are late bloomers, sole marriage for either of us, and though it's none of Cud's business, she was seriously abused in a previous relationship. I do think I'm more cognizant of the treachery than many. That being said, I understand how some could misread my hasty attempt at interjecting more humor into what was already, in my estimation, a light-hearted topic. I could have lingered over the enter key a bit longer, but as my intent was for the link to be viewed in a sarcastic light, I might have committed a faux pas. As SD knows, I dabble on this site in between taking care of my clients during a 12 hour workday. This is the primary reason my responses are often curt and glib. Besides the fact that I'm a total bore. Ok, let's get this first day of spring thing going!— March 19, 2010 12:13 p.m.

Dudette, you picked the fight, not me. Are you nice to ANY of your enemies, I mean men?— March 19, 2010 9:33 a.m.

No. Read too much into things much?— March 19, 2010 6:28 a.m.

Re # 7 - I'd head for the stairs at that point. But I do try to "listen supportively". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWWyJwHQ-4E— March 18, 2010 4:12 p.m.

"is this valid or not???" Do you really need to ask? The title is a misprint. It was supposed to read: What Men Like, according to Cosmo (Kramer)— March 18, 2010 1:32 p.m.
Update: Beautiful Jessie has come home! And: What we learned about lost/found animals
SD: What an amazing and gratifying sketch. No doubt the flyers being printed in all CAPS helped immensely {;>). Props to AG for her expert assistance. Nice work, team! This reminded me of a fellow I roomed with years ago. Leo was quite the ladies man and carried himself with the regal bearing that his name implied. Turns out he was an absolute homer, too. Circumstances forced us (myself, 3 felines and 2 pooches) to relocate from Bay Park, on the edge of Tecolote Canyon, to a secluded pocket of homes just above 805 near Home Avenue and 43rd St. We had been there about two weeks when I noticed that Leo was missing. I scoured the neighborhood, put signs up, and longed for his return, each day becoming more resigned to the considerable uncertainty of his fate. Three months later, my ex-next door neighbor and friend Rory from Bay Park called to tell me that she and her husband had been seeing a cat lurking about that they were sure was Leo. With a heaping load of skepticism in tow, I drove back to the old hood and could not believe my eyes when the gritty gadabout sauntered out of some bushes to greet me in their driveway. Despite the fact that he had presumably negotiated 2 freeways and countless canine-infested canyons on his 10 mile journey, he was in astoundingly great shape, perhaps a pound lighter. I thanked Rory and Larry profusely and headed back to East SD to re-unite the "family". Two weeks later he disappeared again, this time for good. All puddies since then have been kept indoors. Again, uplifting story, SD & AG!— March 14, 2010 11:09 a.m.

Re: caps lock. Is it really that bothersome? My wife, who has vision issues (no life partner choice jokes, unless you simply can't stop yourself) uses the feature as a vision enhancement. Just because you can view lower case effortlessly does not guarantee that the "accused" can. One of those impersonal internet aspects, I suppose.— March 13, 2010 1:40 p.m.
My Brunch With Yoko
Ms G: I hope your usage of the word "greedy" was not in response to my post, which was intended as a satirical aside. The data on the website I linked makes it clear that the monies went to Amnesty International and is the only time the rights to the song have been given to anyone by Yoko. I have defended her since friends of mine first started blaming her for the breakup of the Beatles. John loved her. That always sufficed for me.— March 7, 2010 1:23 p.m.

Found a Peanut
Knock it off, Peter. There's no legitimate reason for dragging others into this "skirmish". So they ixnayed a stoopid remark. Censorship? Hell, you should thank somebody for getting your attention and (hopefully) giving you cause to stop and think on (rare) occasion. Not EVERY thought needs to come to life in print (witness this one). Anyone looking for a microcosm on the current state of enmity in this country (and neighboring environs) need search no further. Just spend a couple of hours perusing sandiegoreader.com. BTW, here's an epilogue, if I may: Ms. Grant's friend Eileen would have met the homeless guy at a benefit, a spark would have inexplicably been ignited, and Eileen would have played the loving nurse over the next few months as both the four-legged and the bi-legged cats clawed their way back to mental and physical health, and they all would have shared golden sunsets on the pier, 4th of July's excluded. Censure me at will , Pete.— March 5, 2010 3:42 p.m.
