Very sad about Bree Walker. She was such a fine looking woman. The accompanying booking photo reflects things have not been so good (sadly). She seemed a nice lady with some issues with addition that plague our society in all walks/avenues of life. Life in the TV anchoring business is not so kind to many, with exception to the few that can survive it and hold on. Too bad it did not work for cable TV. However, if restructured smartly aligned to a VISION that syncs with FUTURE, it may be the only option. On-demand or self-serve, customized towards digital platform viewer...with time/content I desire, is the future that has already arrived. I watch very little TV and any program/content I must conform my schedule/place for, offers less value especially to the growing future demographic, more mobile than me. U-T TV was a losing bu$$iness model proposition from conception since it was based on yesterday. Wonder how much money Doug Manchester lost in the gamble? Sorry to Manchester and all the talent plus staff and hope the new plans succeed well, or for those moving on, they find new jobs or create ventures.— February 19, 2014 5:47 p.m.

Hello Don. Roger served with a group of AM talk hosts post 9/11 in a fear-driven climate where they all shared the same script and talking points promoting the lies on Iraq. Saddam had no linkage to al-Qaeda or 9/11. Any WMD's in the form of chemical/biological he had were $old to him by a company Rumsfeld had been cozy with when Iraq and USA were on friendlier terms. Most these AM talk hosts supporting the neocon pretext for war(s) (what I call the best business model ever--PERPETUAL AND EXPANDING WAR) were once lawyers so they master rhetoric and debate. The problem is if you called any of those shows with a dissenting opinion, you were disconnected and then the host would berate you on-air, call you names, say you were a "terrorist sympathizer" or "for them!" or "traitor" and "un-American." Then in a most clever way the call producer who had screened a bank of callers would direct the host to take the callers who supported the disinformation talk host's inflection points, while also denouncing the previous caller. When Bush-II told the nation and others on a global scale "you're either for us or against us!" that amounted to a rather broad declaration of total war. When I listened to and watched all these neocon types promote the wars, as puppeteers to the profiteers (you wanna buy some drone stock?), I guessed it was a most clever psyops campaign that way too many Americans bought into. Now we are paying the price, have nothing of value to really show for all the blood spilled by both Americans and Iraqis. And I am nervous we accumulated blowback debt, not to mention who is still going to pay for the fiscal debt we incurred along the way? Take care Don!— March 7, 2013 3:54 p.m.

Roger's worst nightmare is losing his mic at KFMB and having to apply at KPBS-FM. ;-) Roger's experience as a lawyer equipped him for AM radio talk. What I wanna know, is with Roger's big push for the war on Iraq (pre and post March 2003), following the neocon script, will he mention the Special Inspector Generals's report released this week about the $1.7 billion unaccounted for in "reconstruction" efforts? Or the $60 billion spent there with little to show for it (this is only a portion of war costs, some quote nearly $1 trillion for aggregate fee). Remember Roger to quote this slogan: FREEDOM DOES NOT COME FREE, IT COMES WITH A VERY HIGH TAX FEE!— March 7, 2013 7:29 a.m.

That's what I've said, if you look at Hedgecock's run in San Diego alone (prior to syndication) from KSDO to KOGO to KFMB, in a major market like ours, you cannot argue with his $uccess. And the recent revelations about former Mayor O'Connor's gambling and siphoning off funds from a non-profit follies, put Hedgecock into a saintly "recovering ex-mayor turned radio talk host" platform. Hi Don, yes, I recall you on KUSI. I met the late Dan McKinnon who owned or invested much money in KUSI out at the airport where he rented airplanes. He had a rich history including C.A.B. chairman, amongst many other accomplishments. I always heard Dan and his brother treated people square at KUSI. Last time Stacy was on-air was that KLSD which was good call letters though they got mocked for it. They were the only voice on AM radio against the Iraq War. Last time I tried to check-in with Stacy his emails were being bounced back from the Cox server. I have not heard of him anywhere on radio, and don't think he intended to stay on it. He tried a webcast for a while there but that seemed to shut down. I hope he is doing something utilizing his talents and that we'll hear of it soon. Take care! Darren— March 4, 2013 6:39 p.m.

His 28 years run is in talk radio highly succe$$ful from the aspect that he pulled ratings long enough to keep a show. Albeit he has gone from KSDO to KOGO to KFMB, but kept a market. Roger is good at covering hot topic button issues, though I'm often not in agreement. Though the style/form gets stale. If you call his show and disagree, you must be prepared to be berated and cutoff. It's like walking into a courtroom without any education/training in rhetoric, argument and trial law, and going against a sharp lawyer. And when I mentioned these guys are "stale" it is as though Rush, Sean and Roger all share their talking points and rail on the same old subjects each day. The fact Stacy Taylor and Roger were once good friends at KSDO, is amazing considering their juxtaposed political positions. Hi Don, sounds like Roger comes right out of a character from Dr. Strangelove. Scary rhetoric from him on Hiroshima. The problem I've always had with the neocon mics like Roger, Rick Roberts, Sean Hannity, Mark Levine, Michael Savage (to a more unpredictable degree), Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, etc., is they have this uncanny knack of not being truly independent thinkers, rather they all seem to share the script amongst each other, which is to carry their PARTY's bouncing ball. Roger became/is very succe$$ful as an AM talk show host. It amazes me to see his long run with strong ratings. The syndication was his savior because I doubt Clear Channel was going to continue his contractual annual salary given the sea-changes in AM/FM broadcasting and redistribution of markets abroad newer broad platforms. Interesting tidbit about AM talk show hosts is the disproportionate amount of them that were former lawyers. I suppose the talent for presenting a case and debate, gives them a natural skill-set coming into political talk. What ever happened to Rick Roberts (not that I was a fan), I heard he is on a single station in Texas.— February 14, 2013 3:13 p.m.
