Kipperman Named UCAN Receiver
P.S. Barbara Bry is one of the the best woman to make certain the right things happen in San Diego and Sacramento, and Hillary Clinton in Washington. It's time to support the best women who have proven themselves most capable of providing leadership for getting the job done at last to guarantee an acceptable quality of life for all future generations before the window of opportunity closes due to excessive population, degrading resources, climate changes and immorality that overwhelms all of our institutions throughout the world today.— March 25, 2012 12:13 p.m.
Kipperman Named UCAN Receiver
The **#1 QUESTION** still remains, even with the enormous quantities of excellent investigative reporting produced by you and Erie, what does it take to wake people up to the fact that political and judicial corruption are destroying quality of life in San Diego? At the rate quality of life in America, California and San Diego is declining already because American Democracy is totally controlled by oligarchs who have disallowed the basic needs of We The People, 2012 may well be the last opportunity we have to prevent destruction of the American Way of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness that will make the long term future unlivable for our newest and all future generations. Truly, our only remaining hope for long term survival of American Democracy and acceptable quality of life for all families is to support the rapid rise of leadership and power by women in all political, economic, social, education and religious institutions because males have proven to be totally unable to get the job done.— March 25, 2012 8:55 a.m.
Kipperman Named UCAN Receiver
Very well summarized reality check Visduh. The paramount fact of life in San Diego is that politicians, lawyers, judges and Shames/UCAN have failed to protect San Diego families, indeed their highest priority is fleecing San Diego families and plundering the wealth of San Diego with impunity and continuous acts of larceny that have been perpetuated for far too many decades. The greatest threat to all San Diego families today is that San Diego is bankrupt with public safety agencies that are dangerously underfunded while our infrastructure and quality of life are literally being destroyed by the culture of greed. UCSD Prof. Erie's book *Paradise Plundered: Fiscal Crisis and Governance Failures in San Diego* documents the facts that far too many San Diego leaders who are supposed to protect and serve San Diego families from corruption are corrupt themselves.— March 25, 2012 5:22 a.m.

Then why did Shames fail to protect the ratepayers against the **$5 million larceny** by the lawyers he hired to sue San Diego? In any case, Shames/UCAN participated in the larceny against the people of San Diego and they owe over $4 million back to the ratepayers. So far it proves our legal/judicial system is corrupt with larceny part of their business as usual cultural code that allows lawyers and judges to fleece San Diego and America with imperious impunity. This is one more example of why San Diego, California and America are bankrupt due to out of control greed, this era has to end to protect quality of life for all future generations, or our legacy will be one of a totally unacceptable life.— March 24, 2012 8:27 a.m.

It became most obvious that Shames is motivated more by greed than consumer protection at the conclusion of 2006 San Diego Sewer Refund Settlement, as documented by S&P: "In 2007, the sewer system settled a lawsuit by agreeing to reimburse residential customers a cumulative $40 million, less $5 million for legal fees, for previous overcharges of their sewer bills (Shames Settlement)." http://www.sandiego.gov/investorinformation/pdf/s… The era of "legal fee" larceny which uses the "Rule of Law" to give highest priority to enriching greedy lawyers at the expense of taxpayers must be ended.— March 24, 2012 5:28 a.m.
How For-Profit College Lobbyists Bought Congress
P.S. I know for a fact that far too many Berkeley professors are afraid to speak out because of their fears of political backlash by Regents, UC executives and the power of money. So the reality is that our politicians are attacking American education and our scholars are afraid to speak out to save American education. Without equal and affordable access to quality education, American Democracy is in grave peril. Again, Ike warned us about the threat by the power of money in his 1961 Farewell Address, it just took 50 years for things to get completely out of control.— December 13, 2011 8:21 a.m.
How For-Profit College Lobbyists Bought Congress
In the meantime American education is being destroyed by political corruption at federal, state and San Diego levels, and that is most definitely a worst case scenario for the future of democracy that is turning into an oligarchy as current presidential debates prove.— December 13, 2011 7:38 a.m.
How For-Profit College Lobbyists Bought Congress
SurfPuppy619, it's actually much deeper than that. The Feinstein-Blum-Special Interests aristocracy is proving once again what Lincoln said, "you can't fool all the people all the time, but you can fool enough of them to rule a large country." Historically, most governments have been oligarchies because it is appears to be unnatural for a majority to rule. Today, We The People don't seem to be able to organize ourselves for united, specific action to keep the greediest and most powerful from taking over in Washington, Sacramento and San Diego. The current debates, with candidates owned and controlled by special interests, are proving that on a daily basis. So we are losing access to education and opportunity because of the destruction of California education by the latest version of aristocracy. It is most certainly time for all We The People to Fight Back Together or lose everything to whichever corrupt political party can fool the most people. And we had better replace all UC regents and executives with people who really give a damn about saving long-term quality of life for our children while we are at it.— December 12, 2011 11:33 a.m.
How For-Profit College Lobbyists Bought Congress
Don, Investigative reporter Peter Byrne has exposed University of California Regent Richard Blum and his wife California US Senator Dianne Feinstein as members of the aristocracy of greed who have been betraying California taxpayers with this kind of California public education killing larceny and corruption for many years: "Investor’s Club: How the UC Regents Spin Public Funds into Private Profit - Senator Dianne Feinstein's Education Conflict" http://spot.us/pitches/337-investors-club-how-the…— December 12, 2011 9:30 a.m.
Government Waters Down For-Profit College Regulations
Don, the worst case scenario consequence of political and academic marginalization of Ike's 1961 Farewell Address is that even UC Professor and LLNL Founding Director Edward Teller was not allowed to develop fusion power production because UC has been making too much money producing hydrogen bombs for humanity. Thus we still don't have any way to eliminate CO2 production from power plants that keep the Keeling Curve increasingly out of control, so that quality of life for newest and future generations are in increasingly "grave" (Ike's warning word in Farewell address) jeopardy as a consequence. And to continue to make matters worse, Obama's Secretary of Energy Chu is a Cal Professor who also ran LLNL which finally opened their new National Ignition Facility that has as its highest priority the "maintain the United States’ cache of nuclear weapons" http://spectrum.ieee.org/energy/nuclear/fusion-fa…— June 5, 2011 12:50 p.m.
