San Diego continues to reward bad behavior
Thus it has been proven again that we have legislators corrupted by banking and trading special interests in exchange for free passes to commit grand larceny against taxpayers/voters/families of America. And the worst case scenario consequence is that out of control numbers of voters/taxpayers/families are going bankrupt, which defines a crime against the American people by those we elect in this so-called American Capitalist Democracy. With Nov. 4 coming up there has never been a better time for Americans to demonstrate our outrage by replacing all incumbents in Washington.— October 2, 2008 4:11 a.m.
San Diego continues to reward bad behavior
The amazing thing is that U-T Editorials are written by tabloid writers who insult the intelligence of everyone who thinks. Thus the worst problem is the non-thinkers who believe the U-T Editorials keep electing puppeticians like Golding, Murphy and Sanders, and the consequences have been deadly and destructive. Still NOGAS, yet.— October 1, 2008 12:42 p.m.
House Was Right to Reject Deceptive Wall Street Bailout. One That Comes Later This Week Must Protect Taxpayers
Response to post #28: You are right JV. The fact is that the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court have increasingly betrayed American workers and families by selling themselves out to lobbyists for decades, during the Clinton and Bush administrations at least.— October 1, 2008 4:06 a.m.
House Was Right to Reject Deceptive Wall Street Bailout. One That Comes Later This Week Must Protect Taxpayers
It appears that congressional republicans have been suffering an ED epidemic ever since Pelosi emasculated the entire republican leadership that got us into this mess.— September 30, 2008 1:37 p.m.
House Was Right to Reject Deceptive Wall Street Bailout. One That Comes Later This Week Must Protect Taxpayers
Don, are you starting to agree with economists? MORE THAN 150 U.S. ECONOMISTS URGE CONGRESS NOT TO RUSH ON RESCUE PLAN Sept. 26 (Bloomberg By Matthew Benjamin) -- More than 150 U.S. economists, including three Nobel Prize winners, urged Congress to hold off on passing a $700 billion financial market rescue plan until it can be studied more closely. In a Sept. 24 letter to congressional leaders, 166 academic economists said they oppose Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's plan because it's a ``subsidy'' for business, it's ambiguous and it may have adverse market consequences in the long term. They also expressed alarm at the haste of lawmakers and the Bush administration to pass legislation. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchiv…— September 30, 2008 11:54 a.m.
House Was Right to Reject Deceptive Wall Street Bailout. One That Comes Later This Week Must Protect Taxpayers
The Vote yesterday proved beyond all doubt that there are no leaders in Washington, unless they intended to fail all along because as Don says: "The concepts of democracy and free markets were the winners today (Sept. 29)---" "The stock market may plunge in the interim (it may be manipulated downward), but this is the cost of getting a bill right." It's still not too late for B&B for POTUS & VPOTUS Maybe The Reader and B&B can create a grass roots Revolution to Restore American Democracy on Nov. 4.— September 30, 2008 2:03 a.m.
USD's Partnoy Says Government Should Buy Actual Mortgage Loans, not Derivatives
Response to post #8: Today shall most certainly be another more than interesting day in American history. Neither McCain nor Obama are taking a definitive stand on the latest plan, thus neither candidate for POTUS has begun to show true leadership that we need most today. Even the rest of the world is wondering if Americans can save ourselves any longer. Will the corrupt continue to protect the interests of the corrupt? Will the best interests of the people be served at last? Stay tuned.— September 29, 2008 12:34 a.m.
USD's Partnoy Says Government Should Buy Actual Mortgage Loans, not Derivatives
Response to post #6: The bailout had damn well better be in favor of all taxpayers best interests or the dems will most certainly prove once again that, whereas the republicans are too corrupt to govern, the democrats are too brain-dead stupid to govern. Sixteen years of Clinton and Bush have damn near done us in, and the future for all Americans is most certainly in grave doubt due to Washington corruption and incompetence. While Senators Feinstein, Boxer and Congresswoman Susan Davis have proven the Good Old Girls are the same as Good Old Boys.— September 28, 2008 1:39 p.m.
USD's Partnoy Says Government Should Buy Actual Mortgage Loans, not Derivatives
Response to post #4: Nevertheless, the brain-dead congressional democrats are doing everything they can to lose their re-elections by selling out American taxpayers and the American middle class to Wall/Main Street corruption and greed that the republicans enabled in the first place. Only the democratic party could melt itself down.— September 28, 2008 12:51 a.m.
USD's Partnoy Says Government Should Buy Actual Mortgage Loans, not Derivatives
Bailing out derivatives would be outrageous criminal negligence, to say the least, anyone in the government who does must be arrested and sent to Gitmo immediately for betrayal of every American citizen. As you documented, $1,140,000,000,000,000 in derivatives are “financial weapons of mass destruction.” They are Osama bin Laden class terrorism.— September 27, 2008 11:06 a.m.
