Bailout Bubble -- Watch Out
Response to post #6: Don, it is always interesting to watch WSJ types manipulate the stock market to maximize their good old boy profits by making predictions that drive down stock prices while they sell short and/or safely stash their cash like bottom feeding bloodsuckers they are. Then they wait like vultures to ride the updraft/suck-up winds to maximize their avarice when they finally let the market recover after the middle class has been fleeced to our limit of pain again and again. After all, the true motto of WSJ and their Washington politicians is “Screw unto others before they can screw unto you.” You know better than anyone that "strong (perhaps radical) reforms are in order" are never going to happen because both political parties are subservient to Wall Street special interests and the latest "recession" proves they all live to screw Americans, and as many of the rest of the world as possible with their Great Wall Street Screw The World Monopoly game. Thus it is time for “The Second Coming” to attack the 20th century version of money changers. This can be the subject of your next Sunday sermon.— June 15, 2009 12:26 p.m.
Bailout Bubble -- Watch Out
“In economics, you can see something horrendous coming.” Wow, the inevitable Gloom and Doom - The End is Near scenario produced by Greed and Corruption is upon us! That’s some Sunday Sermon on the Mount by you Don. Sooooo, what Don Bauder and the WSJ are admitting is the ultimate collapse of American Capitalism due to uncontrolled Wall Street greed enabled by overwhelming corruption of our elected representatives who are “cooking the numbers” like governments always do? In that case there really can be no “safe haven” because both stocks and bonds will be valueless, especially government bonds with values depending corrupt politicians. When are you planning on switching to good old reliable gold Don? The greatest lesson of history is that we never learn from it and it always repeat itself as long as greed and corruption dominate our economic and political institutions.— June 15, 2009 2:23 a.m.
Generation Y Likes San Diego for Job Prospects
Response to post #8: That is most certainly one of your most important observations of our greatest threat. Wars have occurred almost continuously over the last few thousand years, except for a few hundred years total. The truth is that humans are the only species that regularly goes to war, commits genocide, and has the capacity to self-destruct. War has probably always been an important driving force in the invention of new technology. Some of the first human tools were weapons, and we probably used them against each other as much as for hunting. Our passion for war was also the driving force behind some of our greatest scientific achievements, from splitting the atom to landing men on the moon. Indeed, selling humanity short seems to one of the "best" investments you can recommend, but the catch is you must survive to "cash in."— June 12, 2009 7:17 a.m.
Generation Y Likes San Diego for Job Prospects
Response to post #6: That would definitely be classified as a pact with the devil. As you well know, Cheney, Limbaugh and all their GOP hatemonger class are disciples of Goebbels and his Big Lie propaganda technique that proved far too many people are fools enough to sell out their own Democracy.— June 12, 2009 6:04 a.m.
Generation Y Likes San Diego for Job Prospects
Response to post #4: I repeat "God Help Gen Y and all future generations" and especially Heroes and Patriots fighting for America in Iraq and Afghanistan because Cheney, Limbaugh and the rest of the GOP Chickenhawk Hatemongers sold them out in the first place to maximize their personal profits and power from wars and oil as their highest priorities regardless of threats they cause to all Americans.— June 11, 2009 12:22 p.m.
Generation Y Likes San Diego for Job Prospects
God Help Gen Y and all future generations. The fat old white guy GOP hatemongers with Cheney and Limbaugh as their Grand Wizards have done more grave harm to the future of all Americans than any hate group in history.— June 11, 2009 10:07 a.m.
Newspapers Suffer Worst Quarter in Modern History
Response to post #8: Don, thank you for rewriting and upgrading the value of my response, you are most certainly the most erudite columnist in the history of San Diego journalism. I find it all to easy to get outraged when it comes to the attacks against American Democracy and San Diego by extremists like the San Diego Republican Party, U-T Editorial Board, Rush Limbaugh, Fox, etc. If they had their way, America would be returned to the era of betrayal against the United States like the Tories did in 1776 that caused us to declare a revolution in the first place.— June 5, 2009 1:50 p.m.
Newspapers Suffer Worst Quarter in Modern History
One of the worst U-T betrayals of San Diego was the adoption of the Rush Limbaugh style of deranged rant by the U-T Editorial Board, which has fooled far too many brain-dead republicans to vote for U-T anointed candidates like Golding, Murphy and Sanders who have been flushing San Diego down the sewer for far too long.— June 4, 2009 12:11 p.m.
For Obama Sunrise a “poster child” for renewable-energy strategy
Response to Comment #18 & 20 Thanks for the support thoughtful1 & DavidPatrone, but as you can read, see and hear, saving the planet from the totally unacceptable consequences of out of control climate changes we are already experiencing with the required sense of urgency today is almost an impossible dream due to too many failed political, economic, religious, scientific, ideological etc. countervailing forces that are more willing to place humanity in grave jeopardy of extinction, battling to the death regardless of consequences. The paramount fact against humanity today is that we are already severely threatened by never-ending wars, and uncontrolled capitalist greed that is allowing humanity to self-destruct because of the military-industrial complex that President Eisenhower warned us about half a century ago together with Wall Street corporations that control our congress to the point where Democracy has almost ceased to function in Washington, Sacramento and San Diego proves we are helpless to reason with those who refuse to listen to reason and act in time to even save the future for Generation Y. Most sadly, the scientific community has failed humanity the most by failing to come up with acceptable nuclear solutions over the last 50 years because they chose academic welfare over the needs of humanity. Generation Y is going to have to save itself as long as we have at least some Democracy left, but GenY will have to find a way to force republicans and democrats to join together to save humanity on a very fast track. At least GenY has Obama in the White House when we needed someone like him the most, but he is going to need all the help he can get from GenY to make the right things happen quickly.— June 3, 2009 1 p.m.
For Obama Sunrise a “poster child” for renewable-energy strategy
Response to Comment #13 & 14: gardenparty, Yes I always vote, registered as a nonpartisan because I have no faith in either party doing the right things anymore. Both parties are responsible for allowing the betrayals of the U.S. military, attacks against the U.S. Constitution and the out of control corrupt practices by Wall Street, the banks and special interest corporations that occurred during the Bush administration. Either they participated directly or watched and did nothing to protect We The People and both parties enabled the current failures of our political, economic and social systems. One fact of political life throughout America today that is frequently overlooked is that the RNC and DNC have much greater control over how our representatives vote than the We The People. That's a key reason most politicians are failing us in Washington, Sacramento, San Diego, and throughout the United States. The RNC and DNC, and the special interests that control the RNC and DNC have control over who runs for office, funding of their annointed candidates, and how their politicians vote in congress, in the legislature, and in local offices. We The People have damned near allowed the parties to disenfranchise us.— May 30, 2009 1:39 p.m.
