Once again, as Herbert Spencer predicted about evolution back in the 1850s “multiplication of the reckless and incompetent by offering them an unfailing provision --- discourages the multiplication of the competent and provident”. We’re screwed as long as we keep electing “imbecile, slow, vacillating, faithless” politicians to Congress, CA legislature and SD City Hall because all the republicans and democrats run for office anymore are the reckless and incompetent that enable corruption, greed and hate. There is a great new exhibit at the SDNMH on Darwin, and a major lesson to be learned is that it appears that the republican aristocracy is practicing social Darwinism where only the richest and most powerful shall survive while the poor and the weak shall be left to pain, and death. While the religious conservative evangelical core constituency enabled the destruction caused by the Bush Autocracy, they still don’t comprehend that the republican aristocracy will flush them into the sewers without hesitation once they overthrow the brain-dead democrat majorities one last time. Republican aristocratic gains shall indeed come at the expense of Main Street's pain, with higher levels of un/underemployment than our worst economic nightmares since the Great Depression.— November 9, 2009 1:20 p.m.
Defense, Fire Reconstruction Propel San Diego Economy
Don, the fact is that California is dead in the water and sinking fast, with bilges full of the dead weight of corrupt, blotted politicians. We are being taxed to death with obscene local, state and federal taxes that have destroyed the former "Land Of Opportunity" so that politicians are the only people making money. It's time to replace term limits with voting everyone out every election, with laws that only allow control of our governments by individual taxpayers who communicate with our representatives directly as individuals.— November 7, 2009 4:49 a.m.

SDGE Lobbyist Said to be Innocent, Reinstated
Don, the #1 Fact of political life in America is, at least 95% of lobbyists are whores because at least 95% of all politicians at all levels of government are corrupt. This is the only way we can explain: Tens of thousands of American Heroes and Patriots dead in Iraq and Viet Nam due to unnecessary wars that even Bush, Clinton, Cheney and Rumsfeld said “Hell No We Won’t Go” to when it was their turn to supposedly protect American Democracy. Wall Street is still stealing trillions from all Americans, including shareholders as fast as our politicians enable them to get away with it, even Madoff said he is amazed that he got away with so much for so long. Millions of Americans are condemned to unacceptable health problems and premature death because of a deathcare system that politicians have turned into a holocaust, they even get away with claiming that “2%” is a trivial level of uninsured even though it amounts to about 6 million or so real children, women and men. Burnham's "Elitist" Remark Hands Victory to Rider
Response to post #8: I stand by exactly what I said. However, I do agree with Don that politicians in both political parties are paid off by special interests, at local, state and federal levels. They are all alike at all levels of corrupt government, which makes their cultural failures relevant as hell. The only difference between politicians in either party is that the republicans have been out to destroy American Democracy for over eight years now, while the democrats have been too incompetent to defend American Democracy from treason by the republicans. Burnham's "Elitist" Remark Hands Victory to Rider
Excuse me, but didn't Thomas Jefferson write our Declaration of Independence about people like Burnham? I seem to remember that the Burnham family was among the Tories we tarred and feathered in 1776. He obviously thinks that American's are not smart enough to have a Democracy, but then we keep electing Mayors like Sanders, Murphy and Golding, so he may have a point about the republican voters at least. Time to start collecting feathers and boiling tar again, and then stick him into the bilge on a Chinese freighter to nowhere. But then 30 of Burnham’s friends in the Senate voted to allow gang raping of female Cheney-Halliburton employees this week, so it’ll take a lot more tar and feathers to fix their acts of treason this time.— October 23, 2009 12:18 p.m.
