Response to post #17 &18: The Chinese Communists and Cheney do have one thing in common that we must never overlook at our peril, they are all liable to do anything to carry out their deranged lusts for world power. Cheney proved that with his betrayals of America and the U.S. Military in Iraq to carry out the core agenda for the military-industrial complex regardless of how hideous the consequences are to the future of all Americans, and China proves that over and over with their continuous acts of tyranny of their own people, they still are first and foremost communists. Cheney is still the top Neocon, he and the Republicans sold out the Wealth of America to China during the Bush Autocracy, and they keep proving they will stop at nothing. As President Eisenhower warned "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. Response to post #4: What happens when China decides to cash in out on our debt to them? We can bet that Dick Cheney and the Neocons have their military-industrial complex answer for that. Something to think about: If we thought the Cold War was bad, wait until the democrats lose their senate and house majorities this year. I still remember being told to be ready to bomb Moscow at any moment back in the days when Cheney's name was Dr. Strangelove. "Bottom line: employers hold the cards, especially as manufacturing recedes and services rise. High unemployment in the United States and San Diego could be around for quite a while." That bottom line says damn near everything we need to know about how bad things are and will remain "for quite a while." Far too many manufacturing jobs are still being exported to other countries, and worse yet, resulting American jobs losses will be a multiple of each exported job. One other fact of life is that it takes money to pay for services, and there is less money to go around to take up any significant slack with service jobs than ever before, except for the elite class that is. And our incredible debt to China, wars in the Middle East, declining tax revenues along with increasing civil service retirement burdens and dysfunctional federal, state and local governments are causing hellacious cutbacks in societal imperatives such as public safety, education, health and minimum acceptable quality of life resources, etc. that are placing us on a fast track to hell if we don't turn things around quickly. Radical Right Republican rhetoric is starting to make us look and act like the Germans did before WWII and that is a condition we must avoid even approaching.— February 17, 2010 12:59 p.m.

Response to post #38: That gives me an idea Don, We The People need lobbyists. Now how do we go about doing that successfully? The only way I know right now is to support investigative reporters with integrity like yourself and get you to educate the rest of the voters for us, because all our other political, social, education and moral institutions have failed to educate us to think seriously about the hideously bad consequences that our current politicians have on the long term future for our children. You really are the only option we have left. Recently I used to think democratic politicians were the stupidest humans for allowing their republican counterparts to sell out America, but now I know beyond all doubt that it is republican voters who are brain-dead stupid and need the most help from great investigative reporters like yourself. Response to post #16: Let me share a secret Don, when I reached the age of dirt I stopped looking in the mirror except to shave. I asked my wife to inform me if I need to look for any other reason. The 70s just aren't as old as we thought when we were kids, when far too many were dead or not nearly as healthy as we are today in our 70s. Then again, I am privileged to know some amazing role model class WWII vets in their 80s and they give me great hope, but have stayed in good shape their entire lives.— February 17, 2010 11:55 a.m.

Response to post #30 & 35: Yes Don, we know that "Social Darwinism has always been bunk" but the republican establishment is still getting away with using this "bunk" to successfully fool enough people to implement their laws of destruction, because We The People keep electing their puppets to carry out the will of the newest generation of Robber Barons. The fact that we keep electing destructive Mayors is enough to characterize our San Diego subculture as Insane Diego. But this is not out of context with the dominant American culture that continues to elect destructive puppeticians to Sacramento and Washington. As events keep proving, We The People have allowed our elected representatives to lead us through the new Anthropocene epoch, that dates back to the invention of the steam engine in 1784, toward the sixth mass extinction. This is because our failed education, economic and religious institutions keep proving that our prefrontal cortex will not be allowed to evolve enough to save us from that extinction. Sanders has proven beyond all doubt that the "Strong Mayor" concept is a San Diego Establishment tool to disenfranchise the voters of San Diego, and is a direct attack against Democracy. We were lucky to have great men in the 20th century like Churchill, Eisenhower and Roosevelt, but our luck crashed and burned in the 21st with the republican freak show that has produced the likes of “W”, “Terminator” and “Il Duce” Sanders. As you say, it doesn’t help that San Diego republican voters have been committing San Diego suicide by electing Golding, Murphy and Sanders. The fact is that the San Diego Establishment is dedicated to producing and perpetuating the most hideous aspects of Herbert Spencer’s Social Darwinism including unregulated capitalism, a corrupt justice system, a class system with out of control poverty and racism where republicans are rapidly increasing the numbers of poor that must find new ways to survive on their own without jobs that have been shipped by the GOP to their allies in Communist China, and the hatreds produced by good old evangelist religion doesn’t help either. FYI - In 2007 “Il Duce” Sanders earned his nickname during all the performances his PR people produced for him with every TV opportunity in town where Sanders goose stepped to every mike and camera they could find during his pyric Sanders Firestorms where he would announce his latest death and property destruction tolls as if they were some personal Olympic medal count. Sanders literally looks like and copied everything we have seen in WWII Movietone newsreels, except he hasn’t been caught wearing Mussolini’s uniform or giving fascist salutes.— February 16, 2010 12:14 p.m.

Response to post #12: Unfortunately for "Gin's Lead Indicators" that means that San Diego is past the point of no return because stupid San Diego republican voterss have been: o Electing criminally corrupt GOP establishment controlled puppetmayors like Golding, Murphy and Sanders since 1992 who have been destroying quality of life in San Diego right in front of their eyes, and o Former San Diego Presiding Judge Greer plus his henchmen judges Malkus, Adams et al. were found guilty of committing racketeering conspiracy and mail fraud for the San Diego Republican Party Establishment from 1983 to 1992, for a decade which means every judge in San Diego had to be aiding and abetting by at least looking the other way, a San DIego judicial tradition which continues today. So "There have to be a lot of stupid voters" in San Diego, i.e., all republican voters who have been enabling the corruption of San Diego's entire political system for about 30 years at least. Don, this means that stupid republican voters in San Diego will be enabling corruption that will provide you with a living for the rest of your life, while the Reader continues to record out of control burning, pollution, violence and republican larceny against innocent San Diego families for many decades to come as Nero-Typhoid Jerry-Il Duce Sanders puppeticians keep perpetuating the SDGOP legacy of destruction.— February 15, 2010 2:50 p.m.
