Hispanic vote calls shots in San Diego
Don, as Winston Churchill exhorted during the Battle of Britain "Never, Never, Never Give Up!" The READER, especially including your column, proves that print media is still important to the youngest generations. Obama's reelection proved that the youngest generations can win in spite of GOP politics of fear and hate. We still need print journalism as a most important part of our social media to provide the best educational information to inform, inspire and motivate us to protect our long-term future.— November 25, 2012 5:02 a.m.
Hispanic vote calls shots in San Diego
The republicans proved one thing above all others during the last two years, they no longer want a Democracy. They indentured themselves to Emperor Grover and the superPAC oligarchs and no longer tolerate compromise. The San Diego U-T has been publishing deranged rantitorials using Rush Limbaugh as their role model ever since Oligarch Manchester bought it for that purpose hoping that he could fool all the people all the time by insulting every thinking voter in San Diego with his full page anti-Obama and anti-Filner aditorials that failed competely as the results prove. Manchester proved that San Diegans are smarter than he ever imagined. It's time for Manchester to sell out the paper he trashed to the READER so truth and integrity can be implemented in the San Diego press so younger generations will get the information they need to protect their quality of life from the ideology of hate against minorities, women, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness practiced 24/7/365 by Manchester and the GOP.— November 23, 2012 1:39 p.m.
Issa committee used taxpayer funds to attack Obama, says reform group
I must most respectfully disagree with you Don. When republicans indenture themselves to Emperor Grover and then treat returning veterans and their families as if they were slaves who were supposed to sacrifice their lives without appropriate compensation for the purpose of enriching Emperor Grover and the superPAC oligarchs then that is as bad as it got in the days of ancient Greece and Rome when the military were betrayed by the same kind of traitor ruling class we have today. Nothing has really changed in over 2000 years. Our founders wrote the Declaration of Independence to free Americans from Tories in 1776 who treated Americans the same as republicans and their masters do today as proven by the republican rhetoric during the presidential campaign that just ended except for continued treason by the GOP and their masters. In addition to treason against Americans and our military heroes and patriots today, the republicans are bankrupting America to enrich their masters by driving us over the cliff. Far too many people fail to learn from the lessons of history in Athens, Rome and the American colonies, so we are at grave risk again even though we were warned by President Eisenhower in his 1961 Farewell Address that the power of money can place our Democracy at grave risk again. The only thing to be thankful for at least temporarily is that Obama and the Senate won, but the republican rhetoric of hate and destruction still continues 24/7/365 so it's not over until we overthrow the tyranny of Emperor Grover and the oligarchs like we did the Tories during the Revolutionary War, for the same reasons.— November 15, 2012 5:09 p.m.
Issa committee used taxpayer funds to attack Obama, says reform group
Don, when is someone going to expose Issa and his Traitorcan party for driving America over the cliff while selling out their country to superPAC oligarchs? The #1 charge of treason is for failing to provide support for American Heroes and Patriots, and their families after they risked and lost their lives and health fighting to keep America free from the likes of the GOP Traitorcans and other terrorists.— November 15, 2012 12:22 p.m.
Did Sanders trade his DeMaio support for chamber job?
I understand, thanks for the GREAT WORK that you have done reporting the truth as long as you have, you have most certainly made a difference. While Barbara Bry was founding editor of VOSD we exchanged comments, and she appeared to be very dedicated to making the right things happen while she was there. Barbara is the only other person I can think of, and it is especially a major coincidence that she and her husband are serial entrepreneurs writing a column in the U-T. I guess it would to much to hope for that they would care to takeover and produce a cultural value for truth at the U-T that younger generations might like to subscribe to.— November 14, 2012 11:52 a.m.
Did Sanders trade his DeMaio support for chamber job?
Great News! The sooner the better because he is a total failure politically but that won't stop him from creating as much damage to San Diego's future as he can. Could you form a group to buy it out and create a newspaper that people, especially younger generations will want to subscribe to so people can get the truth for a change to make San Diego and the world a better place for future generations? It would be a most wonderful legacy to negate what the republicans have been trying to do.— November 13, 2012 11:53 a.m.
Did Sanders trade his DeMaio support for chamber job?
Thank goodness San Diego has people with integrity running City Hall once again like Filner and Frye to protect us after far too many decades of corruption from 3 republican mayors who damned near destroyed quality of life in San Diego. However, we still need someone to keep Manchester from continuing the era of republican betrayal, so you are the only one with the power to fight back for San Diego against the most threatening oligarch in our history. Keep up the great work Don.— November 12, 2012 12:33 p.m.
Issa committee used taxpayer funds to attack Obama, says reform group
Don, once again, Thank You Very Much for keeping San Diegans informed as the best investigative reporter at a time when we need to know the truth more than ever.— November 12, 2012 12:22 p.m.
Issa committee used taxpayer funds to attack Obama, says reform group
Don, the latest problem is that the U-T's post-election coverage is 3rd rate whining. The best reporter on San Diego left is Tony Perry, and he writes for the LA Times. The LAT gave us more information on the election on Wednesday than the U-T has for two days because the U-T is in the whining mode. It has become obvious that Manchester is using deranged rant print journalism to destroy what is left of the U-T because he is replacing print journalism in San Diego with his new TV network emphasizing Rush Limbaugh copycat talking heads, including a twice convicted felon as his anchor.— November 9, 2012 11:24 a.m.
Issa committee used taxpayer funds to attack Obama, says reform group
Don, Issa has proven to be as much a threat to Democracy, Iraq and Afghanistan heroes and patriots and women along with the GOP in congress as Manchester is with his deranged rant U-T editorials and full page U-T aditorials. It is totally amazing that there are enough republicans left in San Diego to keep republicans like Issa in office, but republicans always believe U-T editorials that use Rush Limbaugh's manual of deranged rants. At least Manchester failed with his anti-Obama and anti-Filner aditorials and Limbaugh style editorials. Thanks for your continuous efforts to expose lies and threats by Issa and Manchester to our younger generations who can still read and think because our youngest generations proved to be that reason that so many republicans failed in the 2012 elections.— November 8, 2012 11:11 a.m.
