SurfPuppy619, you appear to have forgotten that we achieved one of the strongest economies in history during the Clinton administration, then Bush drove us over the cliff due to his failure to learn the fundamentals of economics while he was in college. Another fact that far too many failed to learn in Econ 1 is that capitalism is the absolute best way to create wealth for the entire nation, but capitalists are human and too many try to maximize their greed regardless of destructive consequences to capitalism itself. Don was absolutely correct to focus on "American corporations, by shipping jobs overseas to low- and slave-wage nations, destroyed their own markets -- the middle class."— December 13, 2012 1:56 p.m.

I still can't believe that Romney got over 60 MILLION votes. That's truly the scariest fact of all. We cannot relax for one minute with that many people believing the most mendacious candidate in American history. Scathing report on U-T San Diego
Doug's motto is: “Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it” which he adopted from a WWII racist newspaper publisher. Doug proved this by publishing the racist hate aditorial "2016: Obama’s America" over, and over and over again, and far too many people believed it. Note that the defining words "HATE HIM" were printed in republican red color using his boldest type. This type of GOP political dogma attacks all our civil rights progress and returns us to the most racist era of hate, and there is no way the republicans can lie their way out of this fact.— December 6, 2012 2:31 p.m.

Don, too bad no one from UC joins in on this, but UC scholars spend too much in their Ivory Towers and hardly any time communicating facts that the public needs to know to make the right decisions to save the planet for human habitation beyond this century. Yes Don, that friend from Illinois is you, and no one knows better about political failures that San Diego (along with Sacramento and Washington) must overcome. Keep up the great work. First we must fire the Spanos family for looting public funds, and demand that our new Mayor end corporate welfare so he can balance the budget. During the election Manchester's U-T proved that he is ready, willing and able to do anything by using his power of money to maximize his avarice regardless of the destructive consequences he is producing.
