"Calif. reactors might be retired if restart nixed"

If this threat by SCE is carried out, rates will skyrocket in San Diego because SCE has created the worst case scenario in the history of the American power industry.
I posted the most inconvenient truth on this issue on Don's blog
"SDGE still hopeful it will screw you" Feb. 27, 2013:
"This is out of control, the fact is that the CPUC, SCE and Sempra are getting away with gross criminal corruption, incompetence and threats against public safety (nuclear and fire) and it is way past due time that Gov. Brown gets off his dead ass and rebuild the CPUC and protect the people of California.
Fukushima must be a warning to everyone in California that it can happen here, San Onofre and fires are proving it."

CPUC approves fat rate hike for SDG&E
Peevey has been the greatest threat to California ratepayers since the California Energy Crisis of 2000. He was appointed to the CPUC (after running SCE) by a brain dead democrat Gray Davis in 2002 and is still running amuck under another increasing brain dead Governor Brown. Politicians keep proving that brain dead democrats are no better for protecting our future than corrupt republicans, a truth that also applies to Washington. So we have, most recently, the increasingly out of control nuclear threats by SCE at San Onofre, the gas disaster by PG&E and the firestorm disasters by SDG&E, plus political disasters in San Diego, Sacramento, and Washington as a continuous scenario of threats to our lives, property and long term future quality of life. So if you think that this rate increase looks bad, fasten your seat belts because things are going to get a lot worse as long as Brown continues to fail to protect us from the utility dominated CPUC, especially if he continues to allow criminally negligent utility executives to commit larceny with impunity against and threaten the lives of ratepayers and families of California.— May 10, 2013 3:17 p.m.
PG&E could get stiffest fine ever for San Bruno blast negligence
Don, my all time favorite Economics bible is Paul Samuelson's textbook, where I learned the same fact of life you just said about 50 years ago. I still keep it on my bookshelf for ready reference, but your column keeps updating me. Unfortunately Greed always has and always shall rule, regardless of consequences against acceptable quality of life long-term future of humanity, as Washington proves 24/7. Our generation trashed the legacy of the Greatest Generation so our grandchildren will be the first generation to pay the hideous price of our failure to prevent and fix the out of control mess we are in.— May 8, 2013 11:06 a.m.
PG&E could get stiffest fine ever for San Bruno blast negligence
The era of impunity from criminal prosecution for killing and threatening of lives of ratepayers due to criminal negligence by CPUC, SCE, PG&E and SDG&E executives must be ended and the executives prosecuted or it will just keep getting worse, as Fukushima proved. Shareholders, not ratepayers, must pay the costs of their criminal negligence or corporations will continue to get away with murder.— May 7, 2013 1:55 p.m.
Peevey ducks legislative hearing to guzzle wine in Napa
""The governor needs to replace the president of the [California] Public Utilities Commission," said Hill, citing Peevey's "cozy relationship with the utilities, which this report indicates." Sounds familiar to me with San Onofre, gas explosions, firestorms and far too many utility disasters and out of control $Billion thefts from rate payers to cover them up. If this doesn't get Brown off of his dead butt, you can kiss off the California economy and quality of life for our newest and future generations. Keep digging Don, this is the biggest cesspool of corruption in California history, "Paradise Plundered" is just a small turd in comparison.— May 6, 2013 5:39 p.m.
San Diego Gas & Electric rates are nation's highest
You're going to need another lifetime Don, because you're going to be very busy reporting as San Diego crashes and burns due to the consequences of skyrocketing electric rates that burn us like never before. We desperately need all the nuclear plants we can get, especially fusion energy that Cal has been failing to achieve for over 50 years because they make more money failing than succeeding, but global warming is going to make the future unacceptable for our newest and future generations and we have absolutely no defense to protect them from our greed, corruption, immorality and incompetence.— May 1, 2013 4:53 p.m.

SDGE still hopeful it will screw you
Most disastrously for San Diegans, far too many people believe the fear, greed and hate propaganda that Manchester's U-T publishes daily. Manchester knows first and foremost that Goebbels was right, and he uses the same manual of editorial style just as successfully. Even our education system, the best in history, is not able to educate enough of us to think for ourselves when it is most important to protect our families and future from lies that are repeated daily by Manchester and his board of sycophants.— February 27, 2013 3:20 p.m.

Boxer, Markey demand San Onofre investigation
Arresting and charging Peevey with creating a threat to public safety should get their attention, otherwise as you know far better than me because you taught me this fact of life over the years Prof. Bauder: The First Rule of Capitalism is Greed Rules! regardless of consequences to the rest of us. The 2012 primaries proved this rule once again.— February 7, 2013 7:35 a.m.
Boxer, Markey demand San Onofre investigation
This threat against public safety gives Brown total justification to kick out, if not arrest, Peevey and his CPUC-SCE mafia today. Fukushima is more than enough lesson on what Peevey-CPUC-SCE corruption can cause.— February 7, 2013 6:18 a.m.
