Aguirre Backs Off Request for Information from KPBS
“Symbiotic” is a well chosen characterization Don. The U-T has created a lot of parasites over the decades including KPBS, VOSD, Envision, Sanders, Roberts, and their all time U-T Champion Parasite Duke Cunningham. So Aguirre is overwhelmed with San Diego’s desperate need to herd all the human parasites into a sewer for disposal so we can begin to recover from decades of U-T establishment larceny of public funds with totally unacceptable consequences such as burning one-fourth of San Diego county in just four short years because far too many San Diego "leaders" are focused on their rewards for being U-T parasites instead of serving the needs of the people of San Diego. After the latest firestorm there can be no doubt that if Aguirre and the far too few others like Frye and Bauder can’t make the right things happen to stem the tsunami of U-T sewage, San Diego shall most certainly become a New Orleans class city sooner than we care to think about.— November 17, 2007 6:09 a.m.

We definitely need more people like you Don who speak out from personal and professional experience with the powers that be, thanks for your continuing insights into the San Diego Star Chamber. Interestingly, Matthew Dowd resigned from the Bush Star Chamber recently, he was part of the Bush inner circle from the first presidential campaign, considered to be one of the nations leading political strategists, spending years shaping and promoting Bush’s policies, many of those policies which he now views a mixture of anguish and contempt. One question he wished he had asked after 9/11 was why the President wasn’t asking all Americans to buy into the war by purchasing war bonds, instead on continuing with our conspicuous consumption as if nothing unusual was happening. Recently he was confronted with the damning question about why he never voiced any of his concerns directly to the people he was supposed to be advising, and he admits one of his greatest failures was owing America a voice of open dissent to the powers that be that he did not have the integrity to honor. Fortunately for San Diego we have Mike Aguirre who has been asking a great many questions, most of them the right questions all along.— November 16, 2007 12:30 p.m.

Don, “influence of Copley Press over KPBS” is indeed a subject that should be of major concern to the community of San Diego since KPBS is mandated to serve San Diego without political bias and censure. The reality is that money rules in San Diego where KPBS like Voice of San Diego and SDSU’s Envision San Diego are controlled by those with the money, mainly the U-T Establishment. So Freedom of the Press + Corrupt Establishment overpowers Freedom of Speech and representative government for San Diegans and that is one of the biggest battles that Aguirre is fighting for all of us. The fact is that we are living in most disturbing times where the White House is claiming “national security” whenever they wish to invade our privacy and overwhelm dissent, yet they themselves still refuse to release information on Cheney’s 2001 Energy Lobby meetings in the White House that set policies that have resulted in the out of control, economically devastating gasoline prices we are experiencing today. It is time for everyone to read and think about “The Declaration of Independence” because these are most troubling times once again.— November 16, 2007 2:23 a.m.

Response to Posts #11 & #13: I’m up there with you Don, and am thus a member of one of the generations that created all the problems for the younger generations that you are trying your best to help Don. Our generations created far more apathy than dissent, and American Democracy has declined greatly from our failures to fight for our democracy against the forces of corruption, incompetence and apathy in America. Post #7, I’ll take you at your word. Actually Mike’s biggest problem is citizen apathy, which is the problem for all of us because just voting is not enough to maintain a healthy democracy, it takes continuous, active citizen participation to keep the decline and fall of our democracy from occurring like so many have before ours. America now has the best-educated and most informed citizens in history, but not enough keep trying, too many drop out, and most are apathetic. Unfortunately writing our elected representatives like Congresswoman Susan Davis and Senator Feinstein is a waste of time because they keep auto-responding with something that reads like “We Get Too Much Mail To Have Time To Care About What You Think, Go Away!” And since the U-T controls Voice of San Diego, Envision San Diego and KPBS we are left with The Reader as the only San Diego journal with integrity. The best thing about The Reader is that its core constituency is the younger generation that needs the most help to overcome the legacy of failures bequeathed to them by every other generation since WWII. Its time for the Reader generation to voice their dissent against corruption and incompetence that controls both parties in our political system, threatening their future with a hell on earth existence of increasingly unacceptable climate changes, firestorms, crop and environmental failures, middle class opportunity and job losses, failed healthcare, pollution, poverty, violence, disease, etc. than at any time since WWII. Or we can continue to use our communications devices to watch The Evolution Of Hell On Earth, the never-ending reality show as previous generations have done.— November 15, 2007 1:33 p.m.

Back to the subject of Financial Statements, and now that the consequences of U-T establishment corruption have killed innocent citizens in firestorms for the second time in four years, isn’t it time to declare bankruptcy financially in addition to their moral bankruptcy that keeps costing lives because their larceny triumphs over firefighting resources? How many more must die in firestorms? It’s like the U-T has threatened everyone in San Diego with a death sentence so they can enjoy watching firestorms from their U-T penthouse as they continue to divert attention from their latest criminally corrupt Puppet-Mayor Sanders by focusing their hatred campaign against Aguirre for trying to save San Diego from the consequences of U-T corruption. It's time to declare bankruptcy, we can't afford to sacrifice more lives for U-T establishment corruption.— November 15, 2007 12:05 p.m.
