Pappalecco Little Italy
1602 State Street, San Diego, CA 92101
Copy of a café in Pisa that three brothers created there, and now here. Meals are mostly salad-charcuterie-cheese combos. One delicious combo: the Rustico, varied Italian cold cuts with pungent goat cheese and bread. Inexpensive to moderate.

This is the creamiest gelato I've had San Diego -- none of that icy slushiness other places try to pass off as "autentico." I recently blogged about Pappalecco at http://thedailyasker.blogspot.com/2008/07/can-you-break-five.html. It's part of an experiment, in which I'm asking for something -- anything -- every day for a year. The blog is called The Daily Asker. Please check it out! http://thedailyasker.blogspot.com
Best Gelato in town. Real Italian coffee.
Prices on the high side (but thats not why you are going :-).
By the way -Pappalecco - does not mean Lollipop. Its not real word in Itlaian either, but roughly translates to "food-lick".
