Very expensive. I read several positive reviews online somewhere.
The good: The place is very cool looking inside and out - especially the giant door. Lots of fashionable "east village" type people. Good atmosphere. Food looks really nice and service is good. Place seemed to be well staffed.
The Bad: 1. price - I understand the rent on the place is probably over 10,000 a month. So I understand the price of the food must reflect that cost. I ordered 12 chocolate chip @ $2.50 each and tiramisu cake with a scoop of ice cream $12.00! I asked for a discount on the cookies since I was buying a dozen for a party I was told I could only get the discount if I ordered in advance. So the cookies + dessert was ~ $45.
Appearance: was great very nicely displayed!! but...
Taste: The tiramisu cake was made in a different style and it and the cookies both had a strange after taste almost like mothballs. My own run-of-the-mill chocolate chip cookies would blow there cookies away any day. When i make cookies and bring them to an event, if I blink the plate is empty. Not so with these cookies.
Left over cookies: At the end of the night 35 people were unable to finish the cookies and we all know how fast chocolate chip cookies disappear especially at a party but not these cookies. That tells you how people felt about the cookies. Also, someone made tiramisu cake and brought it to the pot luck party and it did not look very good but when I tasted much better then what I had just paid $12 for!
Closing: worth a visit but be very cautious about what you order. Order a single cookie or ask for a sample then decide. Too bad because the place looks classy and I was excited to taste top quality gourmet dessert.
