The best authentic bbq in all of San Diego. Smoked with hickory. All the others can't hold a candle to this place. Why do all the people in SoCal think there bbq experts? you should expierience real bbq before you comment on it. Most bbq joints in california couldn't last a day in one of americas bbq regions. But Brett's can.

Brett's serves up the best BBQ that I have been able to find in SD, not that I am in search of BBQ, but I am happy to have found Brett's. My family loves the food, it is fantastic BBQ! I prefer a warm, cozier dining environment but the restaurant is large so as to cater to sports enthusiasts I assume, as there are TVs strategically placed throughout. There is usually great music playing, it appears that the owners enjoy jazz and blues for there are numerous posters of some the greatest musicians ever hanging on the walls. The service is exceptional, always very warm and friendly with the intent of providing customers a great experience and a desire to return. I was surprised during my first visit at the large portion of food served. My husbands platter was overflowing with delicious ribs and I received a huge portion of Brisket which was exceptional. You definitely get your dollars worth here. Overall, I highly recommend this place for all.
