With no sign that real woodsmoke every graced the meat, Abbey's food barely even qualifies as barbecue. More like boiled meat served to the soldiers of some ancient army during a forced march through perilous winter. Unless you work in the immediate area and have no other options, don't even bother. If a coworker insists on Abbey's Real Texas Barbecue for lunch, order a side of beans (which are okay) and a few orders of the garlic bread hamburger buns (which are really tasty), and wash it down with a Shiner Bock.

Ok I am not one to miss a meal, ever! So picky is not a word to describe me. We stopped at this place because of the sign voted "Best". The decor was cute, seemed like a family type of place. Got the mixed plate,took one bite and almost threw it back up. We threw the flavorless sides away and took the meat home to the dogs, they voted it the "best" as well.
