What's the longest amount of time you've stood in line for something?

I got here [Harry Potter midnight premiere] before 5:00 a.m. Since we aren't going in until 11:30 tonight, that's an entire day. It will be the longest I've waited. One friend joined me, but others couldn't get time off. Another wishes I'd stop talking about it. I brought my "sorting hat," which was in the first movie.

From Fallbrook (Armorsmith)

My longest line was the Trilogy Tuesday, when they premiered the third Lord of the Rings movie and showed the first two. The total time there was the most, since I got to the theater at 6:00 a.m. and the last movie started at midnight. I didn't get out of there until 3:30 a.m. That's almost 24 hours. The couple that showed up a few hours before me fell asleep during the movie. I got here at 7:00 a.m. My friend waited for a Wii for two days.

We got here at 1:00 p.m. We got tickets a week in advance, but we wanted to make sure we got good seats. We brought blankets and a cooler packed like we were going on a trip. I can't imagine I'd wait in a line this long for anything else; maybe a really good concert, but not some product. I'd wait for another Harry Potter movie. I'd bring an air mattress, though, because it's more comfortable.

I got here at noon. I've waited in really long lines for Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. The wait at Comic-Con was a few hours. I wouldn't wait overnight for a movie, though. I'd never wait by myself. My family doesn't have a problem with it. I will have waited 12 hours for this. The only thing I would wait longer for is a David Bowie concert.

I was in a few documentaries, since I waited in line for a month to see the Star Wars movie. Maybe I shouldn't brag about that. I started lining up for movies in 1977, with the first Star Wars. With summer blockbusters you don't want people to ruin the movie for you. And it's fun to be with a crowd that's just as excited as you to see it. I want to get here earlier than the first people that got here the night before. With concerts, I waited two days for Bruce Springsteen tickets. I'll probably be dating myself here, but I waited a long time for tickets to Duran Duran.

It will probably be this line. I got here at 3:30 p.m. That will be nine hours I waited to see this Harry Potter. I waited in a long line for Lord of the Rings. I waited in line for books, too. The Harry Potter books were released at midnight. I went to Borders during the day and got a number for my reserve copy. There was a long line, but we left and came back later that night. So, that wasn't a continuous line. My friends think I'm weird being this into it. I'm having a friend show up later. I don't know how the other people in line will react to that, though.
