Founded in 2014, Australian psychedelic rock band Psychedelic Porn Crumpets feature heavy guitar riffs, synthesizers, and a blend of '70s rock, electronic, and even thrash influences. They are often compared to other Australian psychedelic bands like King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala, but they have a distinct sound they describe as an “energetic mess of colour and tone.” They released a new single in September called “Salsa Verde,” and their eighth studio album Pogo Rodeo drops the week of this North Park gig.

Grammy-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright blends pop, cabaret, and opera influences into his music. The son of folk musicians Loudon Wainwright III (of “Dead Skunk” fame) and Kate McGarrigle, he gained critical acclaim early in his career for his classical compositions, including operas such asPrima Donna, which premiered at the Manchester International Festival in July 2009. He has also composed music for films and TV, as well as setting Shakespeare sonnets to music. Among his most popular tracks as a solo baroque pop performer are “Imaginary Love,” “In A Graveyard,” “Instead of the Dead,” “Going To A Town,” and “In My Arms.” He’s also known to a younger generation from his song on the soundtrack album for Shrek, a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”
