Krisiun and Abysmal Dawn
Brazilian death metal band Krisiun is known for its combination of relentless drumming, fast guitar work, and a balance between extreme speed and heavy, slower parts. The trio - made up of brothers Alex Camargo and Max and Moyses Kolesne - has been active since 1990, originating as a four-piece but now revolving entirely around the three siblings. The band is on their Conquerors Of Armageddon 25th Anniversary Tour, playing one of their most popular albums in its entirety, as well as performing a selection of hits and deep cuts from their catalogue of a dozen studio albums. The Linda Vista bill includes Los Angeles heavy metallers Abysmal Dawn, whose 2014 album Obsolescence earned the top slot on the Village Voice’s Ten Best Metal Albums of the Year list. Also appearing will be NYC/Long Island death metal pioneers Pyrexia and Gorgatron, a death metal band active in the Fargo, North Dakota region since 2006.

Earl Sweatshirt
Rapper, producer, and self-described “surviving star child” Earl Sweatshirt is the son of U.S. academic Cheryl I. Harris and SA poet, journalist, and activist, Keorapetse William Kgositsile, also known as Bra Willie. He first earned notice at the age of 16 after meeting (via MySpace) Tyler, the Creator, who invited him to become a member of the Odd Future hip-hop collective. Taking the name Earl Sweatshirt, he was soon known for his complex and poetic rhymes, with introspective lyrics and a distinctly baritone vocal style. He created much internet mystique by “vanishing” for a while to attend school in Samoa, returning to prominence on the release of his 2013 solo album Doris. This Midway District date on Sweatshirt’s 3L World Tour includes opening sets from Detroit hip-hop artist Zelooperz (of the Bruiser Brigade collective) and Inglewood, CA alt-rapper Cletus Strap.

Jerro
FNGRS CRSSD presents Jeroen Decosemaker, aka Jerro, a rising producer from Hasselt, Belgium, specializing in melodic house and downtempo electronic music. He’s earned internet acclaim and countless plays for modern dance-worthy tracks such as his 2020 viral hit “Demons,” as well as “Too Weak,” “Go Back Now,” “Trois,” and “How Does It Feel.” Now a leading voice in the melodic house and indie-dance scenes, he’s also known for collaboration with other artists like Sultan + Shepard, Le Youth, Jon Hopkins, and Kasbo and Shallou, and for remixing acts including Lane 8, Gryffin, and Petit Buscuit, among others. He solidified his place within the electronic music community with ongoing support from electronic tastemaker labels This Never Happened, Anjunadeep, and Future Classic.
