Clue: A Walking Mystery Tour

ArtPower is delighted to host Clue: A Walking Mystery, an interactive, real-world adventure inspired by the board game. Adapted specifically for UC San Diego, this experience invites players to step into the role of detective, exploring the campus to track down the missing furniture from the mansion’s nine famous rooms. Players will solve puzzles hidden at local businesses, interact with professional actors around campus, and finally answer the ultimate questions: who did it, where, and with what. 

When: Thursday, August 28, 10 am to 6 pm

Flicks on the Bricks

Come enjoy ca lassic movie and popcorn on a patio during a summer night. The host will be KPBS film critic, arts reporter, and Cinema Junkie podcast host, Beth Accomando. The film will be She Done Him Wrong (1933). When a wealthy banker throws his wife’s expensive fur coat off a roof and it lands on the head of a stenographer, everyone assumes she is his mistress and has access to his millions.    

When: Thursday, August 28, 8 pm to 10 pm

Barona Powwow 

This three-day celebration begins on Friday, with gourd dancing followed by dancers in full regalia. Hundreds of Native American dancers from across the country will compete and showcase traditional and contemporary dance styles, including the Fancy Shawl Dance and Grass Dance. Hand Drum contests, singing, drumming, and food favorites like Indian fry bread tacos. A wide selection of arts, crafts, and handmade jewelry will be available from vendors.

San Diego Made Summer Market

This outdoor festival celebrates the best of San Diego’s creative community with over 125 curated local makers, food and drinks, live music, crafts, games, and photo ops. Be sure to grab a punch card at the entrance— make three qualifying purchases and receive a free handmade gift at the exit.

The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse

The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse have been touring together this summer as co-headliners, with select dates for supporting bands Friko and Dehd. This tour follows a previous joint tour in 2002 and features both bands playing their hit songs, with Modest Mouse focusing on “Good News for People Who Love Bad News." The tour aims to blend the “high-energy, light-filled performances” of The Flaming Lips with the more “earthy and connected” music of Modest Mouse.

When: Wednesday, September 3, 7:30 pm
